I'm on mat leave, DH wfh. We both work for utility companies of sorts which seem relatively 'safe'. We have a toddler and a baby. We were hoping to have patio doors fitted this year so little one could run out as he pleases without detouring through our kitchen. More so now we know we won't be going anywhere this year. I currently have 6k in savings. I wish to keep atleast 3k in rainy day savings/emergency which is 5x months of my personal contribution to our monthly bills, DH pays the other half but doesn't have any savings. Am I mad to be considering spending a good chunk of the rest on these doors before an impending recession 😬
