OK I'm struggling with lockdown fever a bit this week and my weight loss goals - I'm trying to lose weight with no reliable functional scale.
Also, we got paid today but on about Tuesday I didn't have enough money for a can of diet coke!!! Luckily - a VERY unexpected Tesco voucher came through the post - unexpected 'cos I rarely shop in Tesco or use my Clubcard - for £1.50!! I was over the moon as it was enough to get me some coke and tie me over for a day or two!! I want to see this small things as a good sign.....

Enjoy the small things where you can!

It’s been quite a quiet week but I’m grateful for having a small garden to enjoy the sun in, that’s definitely been a good thing. Also I’ve booked a week off work at the end of June - probably won’t be able to go anywhere or so much but it’ll at least be lovely to have a break Smile

Holiday refund of £134 today! I'd written it off, not a fortune but very very appreciated as it's my sons birthday soon!

Iwalkinmyclothing · 29/05/2020 15:42

I got 'outstanding' at appraisal

Farcry66 · 29/05/2020 15:42

My ex, father of my boys, sent me a large bunch of roses to say thank you for all the support I've given him since lockdown started. He is on the shielding list so the boys haven't been able to stay at his and we have always had 50/50 time with them. I've been doing his shopping and bringing the boys over for chats through the window. To be fair, we have always maintained a great relationship after we split and we are always doing things for each other and the kids, but it was lovely to receive them yesterday!

I am earning no money as my sector is shut and went self-employed at the wrong time to get much from the Chancellor. My ex from 15 years ago who is also my bestie gave me a couple of grand to keep me going he was a terrible boyfriend but as a friend absolutely amazing and has also kept me positive during lockdown as well as dropping off groceries each week for me.

gabsdot45 · 29/05/2020 15:48

It hasn't been a great week but I have been reading " The Ickabog" to DD at bedtime. She's 12 so it's been a while since she's had a bedtime story but we've both really enjoyed it.
Thanks JK Rowling

Terribly food fussy child ate salmon, enjoyed it and asked for more. Given he will only eat a combo of chicken, ham, cheese, rice and
peas this was huge!

RiverCityFan · 29/05/2020 15:52

My parents sent me a lovely bouquet of flowers. No special occasion, just to say they loved me!

TheMostHappy · 29/05/2020 15:52

I got "outstanding" on my appraisal, and I got invited to interview for promotion ((although I'm really not holding out much hope on being successful for that!!

Lima45 · 29/05/2020 15:55

I finally got a new mattress. Been wanting one for ages because I was convinced that the one I had made my back ache.

Holiday refund came through so thought I'd just go for it.

I was right. New mattress has solved my backache!

ItsNotJaneFonda · 29/05/2020 15:55

Just had a lovely unexpected delivery just arrive from friends to say thank you for how we’ve supported them throughout lockdown

copycopypaste · 29/05/2020 16:05

I'm skint at the moment. I've just had a concert I wasn't that bothered about going to has had to cancel, with a full refund, plus some flights I'd written off will also be refunded. It's welcome as I've had some unexpected bills come in

Justcallmebebes · 29/05/2020 16:11

A neighbour's hen flew/hopped into my garden yesterday. Was ever so tame. Highlight of my week

RuggerHug · 29/05/2020 16:12

I managed to get bread flour for the first time since March!

Bonzabaybee · 29/05/2020 16:15

I got drunk on Tuesday which unexpectedly lead to vomiting the whole day on Wednesday, and now that it’s over I can enjoyed trifle again and this time with renewed vigour.

Wahay!

BikeRunSki · 29/05/2020 16:18

I got my end of year appraisal result. After 15 years with the same employer, and 7 years years in the sane job I got “consistently exceeding expectations”. There is a small element of performance related pay attached, but I really, really deserved it and I’m chuffed with the recognition. To get it you have to be put forward by your team leader, then other TLs vote on it, so it shows that my impact is far reaching.

merryhouse · 29/05/2020 16:41

I think I've found a book I've been looking for for years!

It was written in the forties and has the same title (Here Comes a Candle) as much more famous novels by three different people so for ages didn't ever come up on a Google search because I couldn't remember the author; but today a thread here prompted me to search again and there it was, on a bookstore site. And only £7 too.

checkingforballoons · 29/05/2020 16:45

I’ve got a shallow one. I’ve been feeling a bit chunky but some new clothes arrived today and they all look quite nice on me!

comingintomyown · 29/05/2020 16:45

My best friend friend just came to my garden last minute bringing treats from M&S including a huge luxury bunch of peonies , I haven’t seen her for 3 months it was lovely

Fishfingersandwichplease · 29/05/2020 21:13

I used lockdown as a reason to get back in touch with a really old friend - had a little falling out which caused a bit of awkwardness but as l said to her, life is too short and l really miss her. Was delighted to get her reply to say she would love to meet up when catchup is over.

Bonzabaybee · 31/05/2020 14:08

That’s lovely @fishfingersandwichplease :)

HollowTalk · 31/05/2020 14:12

@comingintomyown I saw those M&S peonies - they are so beautiful. Unfortunately for me they were in a bucket that said £5 so I grabbed the last bunch, only to find that they were MUCH more expensive at the till. Gorgeous flowers.

Fishfingersandwichplease · 31/05/2020 14:20

Thank you😊it had been bothering me for years!!
