To report the pair of them

So I've just kept my opinions to myself if I've seen anyone breaking lockdown rules but lunchtime today im putting rubbish out and i see my neighbours mother drive round and start unloading her stuff from the car - she's bloody decided to come for a little visit!! This annoys me not only because it breaks the rules but her son has also been tooing and froing between his flat and his girlfriends flat and having the girlfriend and her daughter over etc (yes i know, nosey). AIBU to report them both or should i just leave it and put my energy elsewhere?

Hmm
AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 28/05/2020 16:22

I think if you stop being a relentless curtain twitcher and go and do something more interesting you will be much happier

This. Maybe if you had your own life, you'd be less obsessed with what your neighbours are up to 24/7. Put down the binoculars and get a hobby FFS.

NietzschePeachPearPlum · 28/05/2020 16:23

I wouldn’t bother: it turns out the lockdown rules are only guidelines that are open to interpretation anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

Waxonwaxoff0 · 28/05/2020 16:23

There is no point reporting. The police really aren't bothered. Families were using our local playground the other day which is still supposed to be closed, a police car drove by and did nothing.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 28/05/2020 16:24

Lots of busybodies like YOU crawling out the woodwork OP

Leave them alone and mind your own business . Jesus.

BlueJava · 28/05/2020 16:25

No I wouldn't report I'd MMOB. I think reporting is pointless, will only cause issues between you/her which are unecessary if and when she links the call to you.

Port1aCastis · 28/05/2020 16:25

Oh FFS when we have the P.Ms top aide gallivanting around the Country and getting away with it the police won't give a monkeys about curtain twitching snitching they have real crimes to go to
MYOB

emmathedilemma · 28/05/2020 16:26

Leave them and avoid them. Not worth wasting your energy on.

Esspee · 28/05/2020 16:28

She was probably just doing a Cummings and Boris says that’s OK and we should all move on. 😉

Nanny0gg · 28/05/2020 16:29

Either talk to them directly and voice your objections or MYOB and don't report.

NiknicK · 28/05/2020 16:29

Yes! YABU. Mind your own bloody business and let them be. Oh, and just before I’m accused of flouting the rules myself, I haven’t. I just think that we are struggling enough as it is right now and considering we don’t know or understand others people’s circumstances, should leave it the hell alone.

DominaShantotto · 28/05/2020 16:29

If you really like twitching away with the binoculars from behind the curtain - have you considered taking up bird watching? Get one of those little kid toy phones and you can have your fix for grassing up a sparrow and pigeon not keeping 2m distancing as well.

WarmSausageTea · 28/05/2020 16:30

If you wanted approval, OP, you’ve really come to the wrong place.

Why not have a nice cup of tea and a sit down?

Haffiana · 28/05/2020 16:30

Call 999 immediately and tell them you are a stalker.

Hopefully they will remove you from circulation and allow normal people to get on with their lives.

highmarkingsnowbile · 28/05/2020 16:30

Get a life! YABU.

Port1aCastis · 28/05/2020 16:35

Thing is why tell the internet? We can't do anything if you have a grievance with your ndn have the guts to bang on her door and tell her about it

foreverandalways · 28/05/2020 16:35

MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS AND GET A LIFE 😡

peperethecat · 28/05/2020 16:38

I wonder how much police time is being wasted by these neighbourhood vigilantes.

The police need to set up a call screening system where they give you the option to press 8 to report someone for breaching lockdown rules and then just leave you hanging there listening to the hold music.

MaMaD1990 · 28/05/2020 16:38

@longearedbat im pretty sure that comment would have the desired impact if I knew what 'MYOB' meant!

RainMustFall · 28/05/2020 16:38

The police will do nothing. Unless the visitor has come into your house and infected you with CV, mind your own business.

Brieandcheddar · 28/05/2020 16:38

I really hope my neighbours dont spy on me like some people on here. Im always walking round with just knickers on

Cornishclio · 28/05/2020 16:39

I think as the lockdown rules are open to interpretation now we are all risk assessing our own situations. Just social distance from them and you will be fine. Shops are opening next week so your neighbours mum coming for a visit when presumably she has been isolating until now is hardly going to cause an increase in the R rate. I don't think the police will be interested in that although the son should not have been going to and from girlfriends flat.

MaMaD1990 · 28/05/2020 16:39

Thank you to everyone who's been giving genuine opinions on the situation! Sounds lile everything is going to pot/easing up anyway. I'll be keeping as much distance as I can and scathe in private!
