Had a crappy week - am really starting to suffer with lockdown and work and finding it hard to switch off.

Just want to hear/see nice things - so if anyone fancies sharing a nice fact, photo, or story it will be gratefully received!

Weather going to be staying awesomely sunny for days to come. ;-)

Chasingsquirrels · 27/05/2020 21:13

My bloke just rode over to say happy birthday. We'd been messaging earlier and he said he was off to collect his shopping. An hour later the doorbell went.

Grumpylockeddownwoman · 27/05/2020 21:14

@elsiesbonnet just looking at that is making me feel calm - thank you for sharing.

DSis and I love random trivia and had recently been discussing the fact that dragonflies form a heart shape when they're mating. She took this photo yesterday- told her they'll think she's a pervert Grin

Costa drive through opened near me - met up for coffee with a colleague - sat 2m apart on a grassy bank in glorious sunshine - we both agreed current situation is teaching us to appreciate the small things in life

I taught my 17yr old dd on Monday how to build a deck, use a drill as a screwdriver, use a chop saw to cut the wood and how to get the angles right. She is SO proud of herself and we worked brilliantly together. Her tutors were encouraging the students to learn something new in half-term and she can absolutely say she has.

This week, is the first week I’ve had off work sine February. I have been working 50-60 hours a week since then.

It’s the first week I have spent whole days with my son.
It’s the first week I’ve not had to be up at 6, then not get back through my door until 9pm.
It’s the first week that I’ve put on summer clothes.
This week I’ve put washing out on my line, watched it in the sun and wind, smelled it dry, fresh from the line.
It’s the first week that I have breathed in fresh air and had sun on my face.

This week has been brilliant. I’ve missed normal life, I’ve missed it so so much.

I went running last night after feeling lousy all day and a lady gave me a lovely smile.

The Mandarin word for Panda is 'xióng māo' which is a compound of 'bear cat' 🐼 😊

It was my DPs lockdown birthday on Monday. Last week I went around and asked his family and friends if they could send me a clip of them all wishing him a happy birthday. Everyone sent one, even the grandparents and people he hadn’t seen for years. They were all sweet, funny, chinking glasses to him, my DD8 even learned how to play happy birthday on keyboard for her video. I put them all together and had about 15 minutes worth of footage. I played it to him on his birthday morning and there was lots of tears and laughter from us both. It made him realise how loved he was Flowers

manitobajane · 28/05/2020 11:08

place marking. I'm struggling with it all today.
