Please don't make a Labyrinth sequel!

I know, I know - I can just not watch it. Maybe it won't be too bad. Trainspotting 2 was unnecessary, but not terrible. Grease 2 is maybe better than Grease. And it may never even happen. But Labyrinth? Is nothing sacred?

@RoLaren well yes, there is that aspect... I have wondered if they aren't sort of jodphurs but that possibility is just too off putting to dwell on.

I love Labyrinth and Bowie BUT I will watch this out of curiosity..
maybe it will be so different that it will be more of an homage than anything

They shouldn't make another one because the first was bloody terrible enough...

It didn't age well.

Sequels generally increase at times of financial hardship. Studios prefer to spend their money on less riskier investments. Prepare for many more.

The abduction is a sort of grey area....she did ask for the baby to be taken. Even goblins gave some sort of morals, like how vampires have to be invited in.

And I hate to burst bubbles, but David Bowie hated labyrinth and talking about it.

Oh and if you’ve read the sequel it can be a decent storyline

Oh, and T2 was essential. Like a school reunion. Some of us really wanted to see how they grew up!

Henson Studios did an amazing job with Dark Crystal recently but you can't do Labyrinth without Bowie because for most of us eighties kidlets, he captured us somehow (no inappropriate pun on the idea of his kidnapping, I'm not a twat). It just wouldn't be right.

Ok, I obviously need to watch Grease 2 again! @MorganKitten I haven't read the books because I would find it too upsetting if they were tripe. Are they good?

Just bloody no. Honestly these film makers can’t come up with an original idea between the lot of em, just sequel after sequel, remake after bloody remake. God, if these are supposed to be the creative cream of humanity we’re fucked.

Tilda Swinton is a bit limited and samey for my liking. A bit too cold. Not that she's not a great actor! Can she sing?

God I loved that film! Its iffy as fuck in terms of the full grown man being in love with the very young girl and kidnapping the baby because she implied she wanted someone to. But it's just such an awesome ridiculous film.
