To ask if any one is a fan of 'Classic Eastenders'?

Current Eastenders does nothing for me.
However, in Classic Eastenders on drama channel - I love it - they are now up to around end of Dec 1993/beginning of January 1994

I so remember some of these characters but didn't get to watch every episode as in Uni,

Mandy has stolen Pauline's purse and 'done a runner' looks like by hitching a lorry
Bianca has just joined the show and her friend Natalie! - and she's getting a job cleaning at Tricky Dicky's flat
Anti Nellie is staying at Pauline's
Ian Beale's twins are newborn - Peter's still in hospital
Pete Beale snr has recently died
Sanjay has recently been found in bed with Geeta's sister
Geeta punched Tricky Dicky for sticking his beak in their personal affairs

Sorry I'm so nostalgic for that era!!

I watch it and really enjoy it. I can't get over how pretty they all are (even the men), can't say I thought of them like that first time round.

One episode I particularly enjoyed, quite a while ago now, was a Christmas one in whch Angie had invited various people around for a celebratory lunch. Ethel was packing up stuff to take and said, "This is Willie's present for Roly and this is Roly's present for Willie". The memory of that still makes me smile.

Another one was when there a function/party and a raffle at the Community Centre, the prize was a big ham and Roly nicked it!

It'll be interesting to see the return of Den.

Funny to think of Sharon married to Grant and Kathy going out with Phil.

I love Michelle.

I didn’t know there was old episodes of soaps shown! I’d love to watch this! Is it on sky?

Loved Eastenders but not now, haven’t a clue who the characters are!

I just googled it and am watching the current episode. I can't believe how young they look, especially Bianca. I'm also loving Pat Butcher's decor!

It's on Drama channel @SeeSawBreeze but they also show classic Corrie, and Emmerdale on ITV3

Lynda07 - I also can't believe how young/attractive they all look. Tricky Dicky was an unpopular character at the time - but he's lean and quite good looking!

I love Michelle as well - shame she left.

I haven't watched current Eastenders since 2007 but I love the classic ones. I was only a kid in the early 90s when I used to watch it with my family so it was nice to watch it from the beginning and see these (new to me) characters such as Lofty and storylines like Michelle's pregnancy. I never knew Pat and Frank ran the pub!

Phil was such a nice guy! What happened because in the early 2000 episodes he was horrible. I absolutely loved Pete!

Anyway I watch the classic one daily. Off topic but I wish they'd shown Brookside again.
