Fed up of being pregnant so tell me something about you?

As the title says, I have been inside for 3 months, the only social interaction I have had aside from my partner has been about pregnancy, the baby, friend's babies, the virus. I miss conversations, people, the outside world so please tell me something about you that isn’t about these topics. It could be anything, where you grew up, pets you have, favourite memories, what you are reading, favourite dinner or holiday!

I'm Irish, lived there all my life though for some crazy reason everyone thinks i'm Eastern European😅😅 i love reading and am always stuck in at least 2 books at a time ☺ i hear you on being stuck inside without any interaction with anyone

I'm in New York, DS is home from uni for the summer, he didn't return after spring break. DD is starting uni in the fall, but we're not sure how either of them will actually attend. DH is working from home, I'm going in to work most days. We had homemade pizza last night and it was fab. Grin

Good luck with pregnancy. Is it your first?

AdultierAdult · 26/05/2020 20:08

I currently have a very chubby 13 week old kicking me in the boobs and then biting my nipples when he latches on because he’s teething. They are so much easier to look after on the “inside”. I know it’s easier said than done but do try to savour the peace.

I've recently got in to audible, since lockdown! All the books that were on my shelf, berating me for years for my not having been able to wade through them to the end, I have listened to them on audible! Much more enjoyable..

I was thinking earlier that I miss just bumping in to people. That's not interesting but I miss randomly bumping in to people and getting sidetracked with a bonus chat.

I am learning to read the tarot. Still a beginner but I want to get good at it.

NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace · 26/05/2020 20:13

I'm 53 and, to show that life doesn't end with the menopause, I've taken up bodybuilding (after losing over six stones in weight) and am due to be on stage in a sequinned bikini in my first competition on 1 August.

I am shitting myself Shock

Chances are it'll get postponed until 2021 but ..... I've still got to do it. No guts, No glory.

sawollya · 26/05/2020 20:14

@NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace
Post pictures if it doesn't go ahead.

ParkheadParadise · 26/05/2020 20:16

I'm in Glasgow. I'm currently taking dd back up the stairs to bed for the 4th time. She keeps coming back down because she needs to tell me something. DH is trying to fix dd's doll as the head has come off 🤣🤣🤣

Sparklfairy · 26/05/2020 20:18

Amazing @NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace!

DaiJai1066 · 26/05/2020 20:27

I am loving reading these! Thank you. So in response to some of your tell me anything, I have never been to Ireland or New York but they are very high on my list, I love pizza, I’m currently reading The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, it is my first baby but not my first pregnancy. My favourite thing to buy are boots not shoes, I like warm toes and I love singing.
Audible sounds like something I should try and massive well done on losing the weight and having the confidence to be on stage!
Oh and how did DD’s doll’s head fall off? 😂

@DaiJai1066
The dolls head fell off weeks ago probably because dd holds it by its hair. I fixed it BUT the head was round the wrong way and wouldn't move🤣🤣. Today it fell off again.

IHateCoronavirus · 26/05/2020 20:47

We have to sleep with an extra duvet on the bed as somehow I gather the duvet under my head at night to make a sort of nest-pillow. I am completely unaware that I am doing it but according to DH I am incredibly grumpy if he dares to remove said nest as I sleep. Hence the extra duvet.

I've developed a secret fascination with a YouTube channel called Aquaholic. There's a lovely guy who reviews yachts and its great, I sit and watch and dream that I've won the lottery and am shopping for a boat.

Wilkolampshade · 26/05/2020 21:02

In my entire life @13NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace I have never worn a bikini and hugely regret spending my 50 odd years HATING my body. You are amazing.
I had started thinking about doing something permanent about the situation lately but you have inspired me to push on. Thank you, and good luck. X

Auridon4life · 26/05/2020 21:02

I got new Bluetooth headphones today from the range like imitation air pods and they are rose gold!!

MrsMonkeyBear · 26/05/2020 21:36

I'm currently lying in bed watching Emergency Helicopter Medics on All 4. I love shows like this, as i wanted to be a paramedic but my emetaphobia is too strong to have done it.

sadeyedladyofthelowlandsea · 26/05/2020 21:50

@NiceLegsShameAboutTheFace - That's bloody amazing! Fingers crossed it does go ahead. I give tours & talks on my specialist subject, and the first time I was an absolute wobbly wreck. I'd never done anything like it before, and suddenly there was this audience expecting me to know everything. I could barely even walk - and then about five minutes in I said to myself 'so fucking what if this goes badly? They won't remember who you are.'

I still get the absolute fear every time I have to perform in public, but I genuinely love doing it now. It's given me so much confidence, and I've got better every time I've done it.

Firstimemam · 26/05/2020 21:51

I'm German, moved to England at the age of 19, after my degree, moved to London, now engaged, own a house in London & have a 16 months old DS. Currently planning my wedding for 31/12/2021 on a boat on the thames. I'm now 30. I miss my German family and can't wait for us to travel again!

Nsky · 26/05/2020 21:53

Learning French, at 58, Duolingo, interesting and st times confusing, day 69 today

MeOldBamboo · 26/05/2020 22:05

I’ve started a lovely tapestry cushion cover, first time I’ve done one and it’s beautiful pink tulips. It’s really helped clear my mind and get some peace in the last few days. And I’ve ordered some new teal bedding from JL today which I can’t wait to get!
