Barclays mobile app - urgent and posted for traffic.

Switched phones.

Tried to log in to Barclays. Have to register usually but easy as details are saved.

First few attempts wouldn't accept password I wanted to use.

Then used pin sentry but said couldn't verify.

Now when I type in my passcode I get this. I haven't finished setting up yet.

But I'm very wary of it asking for my pin. Is this legit?

I'd ask Barclays but they've had me on hold for over an hour!

I work for a different back and with our app you do have to authenticate a device change so would think it’s legit

Yes - I had a new phone last month and it needed my PIN to complete the set-up. Haven't had any unusual transactions on the account, so assume it's legit. They don't ever ask for it again.

But it's the typing my PIN number for the card into the app.

I've always thought we are told never to reveal pin.

I may be over cautious! But I've only ever had to type security code on back for online payments etc.
Or use pin sentry and type pin in there.

No it's not your card pin!!! It's your online banking pin code

Absolutely nothing legit would ever require your card pin

My online banking pin is 5 digits not 4 like my card pin.
I input that lots.

I had This same issue with Barclays earlier
I couldn’t log in with pin
I switched phone off and on again and then it worked with my pin

Ah sorry misread the problem

Monzo asks for your card pin for some things if it can't verify you with Face ID/fingerprint, so some banking apps do. But no idea about Barclaycard.

I'd put in my banking app pin.

This asked for pin to card.

Luckily no money in account so was actually no risk.

As others said they'd had the same I put it in and immediately it went to my banking stuff.
It must be a new thing.

They want your online banking pin, not your card pin.

Barclays asked for my card pin. I had to get a new pin as I could’nt remember it and it was definitely the card pin I used.

Their website says they ask for card pin when setting up PinSentry etc so all above aboard!
