Hard water all of a sudden...?

I thought my dishwasher was broken because all my glasses are coming out with white marks but even when I hand wash the marks still show up or don’t fade away. Is it possible that my water supply has suddenly become more hard? Anyone have any ideas?

Too much salt.

Sounds grim but taste the glass, is it salty?

Jadefeather7 · 26/05/2020 18:48

Nope but we did top up the salt after the first time that it happened

Have you changed dishwasher tabs lately?

MrsMoastyToasty · 26/05/2020 18:59

It is possible that your local water company is sourcing your supply from a different type of supply. It quite often happens if they have to reroute the water around mains repairs. Boreholes tend to provide a harder water than surface reservoirs.

Same dishwasher tabs. It just happened randomly once and I’ve tried cleaning the dishwasher but no luck.

We had that once. Turned out they'd changed the makeup of the tabs. We changed and never had that problem again.
