Nice one Angela 😊

I'm also watching the Epstein documentary ☹️😥

Trump has now not only postponed the G7 meeting pencilled in for end of June (after Merkel declined invite) but now wants to expand G7 group describing it as a“very outdated group of countries”
www.theguardian.com/world/2020/may/31/donald-trump-postpones-g7-summit-and-signals-wider-attendance-list-in-future
He really does take any failure to agree with Trump as a gross personal slight, doesn't he?

Roussette · 31/05/2020 07:34

He is a complete plank isn't he...
All I wish is, he personally will not be attending any G7 in the future because he won't be the president.

Besides which it is a collective, and not just up to him to say which countries attend.

BruceAndNosh · 31/05/2020 08:03

Plank is a very good description.
Dense and rigid.

Jaichangecentfoisdenom · 31/05/2020 09:30

This stood out for me in that article about Merkel's rebuffal of Trump's invitation, as it was my own first thought:
"But while officials said Merkel's reluctance to attend the G7 summit was primarily based on the ongoing health situation, they also said European G7 leaders are concerned that Trump may simply want to use their visit for an election-year photo op, and as a basis for declaring the world is getting back to work — thanks to him."

Lweji · 31/05/2020 09:37

Maybe they could try a G6 via Zoom

TooTrueToBeGood · 31/05/2020 12:10

Plank is a very good description.
Dense and rigid.

And when ever you see one you have an instinctive urge to hammer large nails into it.

BruceAndNosh · 31/05/2020 12:25

@Lweji

Maybe they could try a G6 via Zoom
Or have the Zoom G7, but put Trump on mute

I heard on the World Service about something positive coming out of the despicable policeman Derek Chauvin's killing of a handcuffed man last week, so I have hunted it down:

www.mlive.com/news/flint/2020/05/flint-area-police-join-protesters-marching-to-seek-justice-for-george-floyd.html

Good for Genesee County Sheriff Chris Swanson, say I.

“This is the way it’s supposed to be — the police working with the community,” Swanson said. “When we see injustice, we call it out on the police side and on the community side. All we had to do was talk to them, and now we’re walking with them. ... The cops in this community, we condemn what happened. That guy (Chauvin) is not one of us.”

He isn't black, either, in case anyone was wondering: www.gcsomichigan.com/undersheriffswanson

lionheart · 31/05/2020 16:19

Yes, I saw some film from Santa Cruz with the police taking a knee with protesters.

Officers like those who killed Chauvin also make it more dangerous for the others who are not like that. Lord knows, with so many guns in the US it must be a scary job at the best of times.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/lindsey-graham-republican-judges-retire-2020-election-trump-a9539396.html

'Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham has called for judges who are 65 or older to step down, so Republicans can take their seats in time for November’s presidential election.

Mr Graham, a Republican senator for South Carolina, said that judges in their mid to late 60s should take “senior status,” which would open up their seat for a new appointment.'

AcrossthePond55 · 31/05/2020 16:57

Sure wish that the Floyd family had recorded that call. I'm sure it was full of praise for himself and the economy. You know...."Sorry about your brother and all that, but hey how about you go on TV and say something great about ME. We need to get that economy rolling, ya know. It's a beautiful economy".

lionheart · 31/05/2020 17:58

Noticed a lot of reports like this appearing on social media.

www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/may/31/george-floyd-protests-reporters-targeted-by-police-and-crowds

lionheart · 31/05/2020 19:01

I hope they did record it.

thebulwark.com/trumps-biggest-enemy-is-context/

'When strung together, all of these issues cumulatively add up to someone singularly unfit to be president. Yet by pretending each incident was committed by a person independent of the last one, Trumpers try to break the chain of accountability. If a typical Trump loyalist had to play the vintage memory game Simon, he’d never be able to move past the first flashing light, refusing to believe the sequence of colored lights existed.'

lionheart · 31/05/2020 19:02

Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump

'The United States of America will be designating ANTIFA as a Terrorist Organization.'

AcrossthePond55 · 31/05/2020 20:28

Yeah, fuck him!

I may not agree with everything Antifa does, but they certainly don't belong in the same category as the Klan and the Aryan Brotherhood.

Lweji · 31/05/2020 21:48

For some light relief, and if you have Netflix, Space Force, the series

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 31/05/2020 23:02

Can Trump unilaterally declare an organisation to be terrorist?

AcrossthePond55 · 01/06/2020 00:12

Good question! Foreign Terror Orgs are decided by the Secretary of State. There isn't a formal Domestic Terror List (because there's no such crime in the US as 'domestic terrorism'), but the FBI has a 'watch list' and I assume Scrotus wants Antifa on it. And the FBI is part of the DoJ which is run by William Barr.

I honestly don't know how much a POTUS normally has in the decision process. But considering that Barr is in Scrotus' pocket, I'm sure this POTUS will have no problem getting the FBI to put Antifa on the watch list.

lionheart · 01/06/2020 01:04

Oh.

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/far-right-hawaiian-print-shirts-why-protesters-boogaloo-racist-a9539776.html

'Emerging from a hack joke trope and in far-right memes in racist and homophobic corners of the Internet, armed extremists wearing Hawaiian or "Aloha" print shirts at protests across the US are signalling support for a "second Civil War" over stay-at-home orders and perceived threats to the Second Amendment.

The 1984 breakdancing film Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo launched three decades of overused jokes relying on its title format, with its latest iteration in far-right memes casually invoking "Civil War 2: Electric Boogaloo".'

Lights that usually illuminate exterior of the WH have been turned off.

Trump and family reported to have been moved to the WH bunker.

From the article...
“If they had [breached the fence],” the president continued, “they would have been greeted with the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons, I have ever seen. That’s when people would have been really badly hurt, at least.”

But he needs to go in the bunker Hmm
Not sure his phone will work down there!
