I had to pick my jaw up off the floor at that Roussette.

It'll be a carefully vetted 'neutral' speech geared towards not upsetting 'the base' yet mouthing 'words' and catchphrases intended to strike a chord with anyone inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt. All delivered in that slightly mumbly monotone "blah blah blah blah blah, blah blah blah blah blah" that IMO he uses to convey that he's repeating something by rote and that they are NOT his words.

As usual, I'll probably try to watch on the basis of 'know thine enemy' but will probably end up screaming 'fuck you' and then turning the channel before I throw a shoe and break the screen.

I follow this guy on Twitter Across who is just one of my faves. He picks out all the awful bits and puts them into maximum 1min30sec clips. I can just about cope with that.

I generally watch the MSNBC evening lineup (Chris Hayes, Rachel, L O'Donnell) to get the jist of his speeches, but anymore it seems as if they are largely ignoring him under the 'don't give him the exposure' philosophy. They'll just do a short 'blurb' with no clips.

His last attempt at a unifying speech was dreadful. He monotoned his way through the scripted bit then escaped the leash and wittered on about this being a great day for George Floyd. Eejit.

I think it's because he thinks he so intelligent and that his off piste remarks are 'clever'. Wrong on both counts

I did find McNinny amusing when she was asked about the President's stance on taking a knee. She was caught between a rock and a hard place. And said 'The President is very much against kneeling in general'

Given that Senators, police and many are taking a knee since George Floyd's death, it seems he is out of step with the majority
