to want to talk about the A66

Poor old Grant Shapps. Desperate to talk about it but all people wanted to discuss was Cummings.

So here's his chance. Well, your chance.

It will be great they dual it. It can be a pain when it slows to a single lane carriageway.

Now I just need to get to the Lakes again.

Anyone else want to talk about this?

Love the farm shop and café near Barnard Castle with the sheep on the roof. Perfect lunch stop.
Dual would be good, then the horse drawn caravans near Appleby can ride 2 abreast!

Wish they would do the A64 but the A66 is a start

Hahahaha! Would be great to do the A66 and the A64. Then Dominic Cummings will be able to visit his fav day trip destinations more easily.

It would be great if they could make the rest of it (west of Penrith) dual carriageway, too.

Agree about the farm shop - bloody love that place.

Don't waste your sympathy on Shapps. I have no opinion on the A66 though, the only time we used it seemed fine - free flowing and not much traffic.

We stayed in the A66 motel years ago, is it still there? They had chickens and the lady let the kids feed them after breakfast. T’was lovely!

The A66 is the worst road in Britain. I despise it

How far are they planning to do it? It's a major artery and is fine until you get a tractor or an accident then the whole region grinds to halt

I live near the A66 and it is a horrible dangerous road. Summertime Friday afternoons in particular- so many accidents on the single carriageway at junctions, meaning massive trucks get diverted through tiny villages. Can't wait for it to be dual carriageway but it'll just mean more junctions where to turn right you have to pull across the other carriageway with crap visibility and overgrown verges.

What was the big announcement about the A66 supposed to be? Poor Grant Schapps!

Yes love the A66 and go on it all the time. The farm shop cafe isn't what it was. Who buys all the stuff in the food shop area?
