@Lemonylemony it's staggeringly arrogant isn't it!

tobee · 25/05/2020 17:08

What a load of bollocks bringing in Fred West & Myra Hindley to the argument!

PurpleDaisies · 25/05/2020 17:08

Since when are people allowed to just disappear off to their second homes in the way he’s suggesting?

ShinyFootball · 25/05/2020 17:08

Who is this journalist

AnneKipanki · 25/05/2020 17:08

Quick look at written notes!

Blondiney · 25/05/2020 17:08

I see MN's resident contrarian is up to her usual tricks. Grin

ThousandsAreSailing · 25/05/2020 17:08

His wife gave a full account of their illness on R4. She described in detail how ill he was. Muscle cramps and twitches. Staying in bed, their son giving them cold drinks
Strange how she didn't mention travelling to family. Its almost as if they did something wrong

Haggisfish · 25/05/2020 17:09

Bet he’s circling a hit list of journos in front of
him!

CoolCarrie · 25/05/2020 17:09

He is a big boy and he can, and should take the criticism Bluntness.

ChicCroissant · 25/05/2020 17:09

He said no accessible childcare at the start.

Haggisfish · 25/05/2020 17:09

Oh we are back to the I’m so important.

attackedbycritters · 25/05/2020 17:09

People have lost their jobs travelling to check on their second home whilst being perfectly well
People nearly lost their jobs delivering supplies to vulnerable people , whilst they themselves were well

Yet he travelled elsewhere whilst possibly ill....and then blames other people for being a tad upset

ShinyFootball · 25/05/2020 17:09

I like him.

This is not going well for DC.

Aridane · 25/05/2020 17:09

’My son needed a wee, and so we took an hour or so to play in the woods... we also went to visit a castle to ensure I am not indeed blind’

Indeed

madroid · 25/05/2020 17:09

"I was involved in lots of important things"

translation: I am too important to follow the rules.

Techway · 25/05/2020 17:09

Can someone ask about Lockdown in London piece which was untrue.

prisscalledwanda · 25/05/2020 17:09

I want someone to ask: what steps did you take to establish that there were no childcare options available to you in London? How many nanny agencies, friends, relatives, assistants did you speak to and ask for help?

I think we can all guess what the answer would be.

RedToothBrush · 25/05/2020 17:09

Lewis Goodall @lewis_goodall
In answer to accusation that he broke cardinal rule of lockdown (if you have symptoms you stay at home in all circumstances)

Cummings said his wife didn’t have two main symptoms, intimating they didn’t know she had it

But in which case- why zoom to Durham in such haste?

MouthBreathingRage · 25/05/2020 17:09

This is pack bullying and it is seldom deserved. He’s hardly Fred west.

Asking questions of someone in a highly power position who has evidently broken the guidelines they set in times where many people have gone without seeing family is not bullying. It's fair, democratic behaviour. He didn't have to do this interview, he could have resigned, he could have published this statement with half the waffle, he could have said nothing and ride it out. This is the circus Dominic Cummings wanted, he can deal with the questions that come with it.

Nicknacky · 25/05/2020 17:09

Strange his wife never mentioned the kid going to hospital in her heartfelt article.

alittleprivacy · 25/05/2020 17:10

What is he writing? Just pay attention, man!

His hit list. Each journalist that asks him too tough a question gets added.

Shefliesonherownwings · 25/05/2020 17:10

I still don't understand why he didn't get tested?

Aridane · 25/05/2020 17:10

It's not exceptional circumstances to be worried that there may be exceptional circumstances...

Indeed

Lockheart · 25/05/2020 17:10

This is like the Prince Andrew interview but without any jokes.

Wonder if it will end the same way for Durham Dominic as it did for Airmiles Andy.

mbosnz · 25/05/2020 17:10

Enjoying it? Enjoying this utter farce, whereby the senior Spad flouts every fucking pandemic rule in the book, putting how many people at risk, including his child, the PM endorses his behaviour, when people have gone through so much, suffered so much, sacrificed so much when following the rules they insisted we all must follow no matter what?

When his actions and Boris's response has made policing the lockdown that much harder, if not possible, for the police?

No. I'm not enjoying this.
