I think he's actually played this quite well, so much luke warm waffle that's only just true people, won't know what to challenge first.

It's THE MEDIA's fault. If THE MEDIA hadn't lied about him before he got ill, then the mobs wouldn't have been swarming outside, forcing him to leave. If you've been listening to THE MEDIA for the last few days then of course you'll be angry. But HE IS RIGHT, everyone else is wrong. Why is that so hard to believe?

Someone tell a journalist Barnard Castle is a 30 mile trip!

I assume these journalists that have been chosen to be present are not believed to be likely to give him a hard time.

I mean I looked after a 2.5 year old by myself while 18 weeks pregnant with hyperemesis and a broken foot so I was on crutches. But obviously that’s different.

Admitting to driving with dodgy eyesight? Oh dear lord just give the man a shovel so he can dig the hole deeper.

Did he say that he had started to feel unwell when they were still in London? So he drove up to Durham when they were born symptomatic?

DS have lied on record now as they said on Friday that the Barnard castle allegation was false (said allegations in the papers were 'patently false') .. he's just admitted it must have realised the police could trace his car there.

Trying to blame the media coverage over the last few days, refusal to apologise for it at all.

Sounds like they've gone through all the questions that have been raised in the media and cobbled together a selection of half truths and lies to rebut all of them with scant regard to plausibility.
Let's hope there are a couple more stories to come out that will need retrofitting into the fairy tale.

He’s lying

So if he didn’t crash the car on his short drive and injure himself and others and risk the emergency services personnel who would have had to intervene, that would be fine.

Clearly no one in the Cummings Extended Family has a driving licence.
