TestingTestingWonTooFree · 24/05/2020 15:38

What’s it for?

Glitterb · 24/05/2020 15:39

It’s horrendous!

LoseLooseLucy · 24/05/2020 15:40

I actually had to check it was genuine when I first saw it, absolutely awful😑

june2007 · 24/05/2020 15:41

It,s bad, but It,s tricky on one hand it,s good to be open and talk about these things on the other hand this is just a bad advert. It,s for Tampax for those asking.

UnaCorda · 24/05/2020 15:43

Haven't seen this, but "up there" presumably refers to up one's vagina?

LadyDoc1 · 24/05/2020 15:45

It's so cringe! On that subject though, can anyone recommend a good brand for women with weak pelvic floor muscles? I can't stand the ones with 'skirts' as found they feel horrible

Buddyelf · 24/05/2020 15:45

Awful advert. I’m all for being open about periods but it makes me cringe every time I see it. ‘Get em up there’ referring to a vagina is just crass imo.

ScrumptiousBears · 24/05/2020 15:46

The girl they use has been specifically chosen to be a copy of Mel B. I think it's an awful advert.

Jumble567 · 24/05/2020 15:46

Have just watched it - that is truly a vile advert!! Who the hell thought that was a good idea? They seriously need to sack whoever approved that!

Toilenstripes · 24/05/2020 15:46

But women on here all the time talk about “their girls” in reference to breasts.

june2007 · 24/05/2020 15:47

Ladydoc. If you want disposable then I prefer lillets. (But tend to use cups and cloth these days.)

DaanSaaf · 24/05/2020 15:47

It is so patronising as well, I can't stand it.

@LadyDoc1 have you tried a mooncup?

OP posts:
Windyatthebeach · 24/05/2020 15:48

That isn't even the correct angle for inserting a tampon ffs!!

KatherineJaneway · 24/05/2020 15:48

It's even worse than the woman rollerblading in the skintight suit while walking her dog.

PicsInRed · 24/05/2020 15:49

It's a touch "White men write Black women". Hmm

LadyDoc1 · 24/05/2020 15:52

I'm a bit intimidated by a moon cup, and prefer applicator tampons due to a combination of bad back, previous nail related injuries and probably a significant amount by having experienced sexual violence and traumatic birth.
My periods seem to be on lockdown just now, anyone else experiencing that? One day of bleeding bit every 3 weeks, peculiar

amijustparanoidorjuststoned · 24/05/2020 15:53

I actually like this advert.

I started my period when I was 10. I hadn't quite yet reached that part of the curriculum where sex education covered periods. I didn't immediately recognise that I HAD started my period until my mum said "ah, it's probably that!" when I complained of tummy ache, back ache and the obvious blood.

I wish we'd have had adverts like this when I was growing up. Nobody teaches you about how tampons work other than on the instructions!

Is it also bizarre that I actually think the corniness works on this advert?! Grin my only criticism is that one of the girls on the sofa literally doesn't speak. It just makes you wonder if she didn't make the edit or if she is just there for decorative purposes!

Either way, I like it.

Bluntness100 · 24/05/2020 15:54

It’s seriously cringe worthy.

We were watching tv the other night, watched this, then the one for erectile dysfunction came on, we were just waiting for the laxative ad next,,.
🤣

TheBiscuitStrikesBack · 24/05/2020 15:57

It’s doing what the ad people wanted, we’re talking about it!

ElectricTonight · 24/05/2020 15:59

I hate it.

Littleshortcake · 24/05/2020 15:59

It's a terrible advert but a the worst advert ever is a toss up between that ad and the tena one ' a little bit of wee isn't going to stop me being me'

Ughhh.... I say this of a mother of two using Tampax 25 years. It's just not a nice advert to watch.

Soubriquet · 24/05/2020 16:03

Yeah I hate it

How many teenage boys are going to say to the girls, not just the tip but up to the grip regarding blow jobs?

PotholeParadise · 24/05/2020 16:10

But women on here all the time talk about “their girls” in reference to breasts.

On mumsnet? Have you got MN mixed up with somewhere else?

FourDecades · 24/05/2020 16:39

I absolutely cringe when l see it
