Blocked Nose - for weeks!

Anyone has any miracle cure against blocked nose?
Hear me out: I have had a blocked nose for weeks! nose not running, just.. blocked. I barely blow my nose during the day at all, no need. The issue are nights, I can't sleep. I wake up with a parched dry mouth, nose completely stuffed, blowing it doesn't do anything, or next to nothing.
One nostril tentatively let some air, then I try to sleep again, and repeat.

Too trivial an issue to bother any GP, but I am exhausted.
Blocked and bleedy nose, tried Antihistamines, tried viks nothing seems to work.

Help!

Yeah, you need to see a doctor. Not being able to breathe properly for weeks isn't trivial.

Steri spray (saline spray) from the pharmacy to wash your nasal cavities out. I have similar recurring sinus infections where my sinuses are totally stuck solid. The ENT specialist has recommended these for me to use regularly to prevent, and also to slowly erode away at the blocked gunk without being too invasive. Menthol crystals with lots of steam, nasal massage etc. all can help. As can aspirin to reduce the swelling in your blood vessels. Have a Google as to where your sinuses sit, certain sleep positions can help it drain also.

It is possible you have an infection also so don't be afraid to bother your GP - the length of time you've been suffering suggests this isn't a simple cold. They will be happy to see you.

Yes phone your GP. It's not trivial especially if you cant sleep and causing you distress. You might just need something stronger like a prescription nasal spray or something

I’m like this and I rely on Sudafed nasal spray at night so I can sleep. Not ideal to use it long term I know, but it’s awful trying to sleep with a blocked nose. I find the problem comes and goes. Sometimes I’m fine for a few weeks and then it comes back.

Also try a different antihistamine as you may find that you do better with one drug than the other

I get this too and use nasal sprays which help a lot. I've seen something called a neti pot recommended but never tried it myself.

Just a warning about the decongestant nasal sprays. The warnings about only using them for 7 days are to be heeded. I've got the same blocked nose problem that I've had for three years and counting and I have historically over used these sprays used. It has made the problem worse and has caused permanent damage to my nasal passages and exacerbated the problem. The ENT specialist can't really help me now.

Hope that you get it sorted. Try Neil Med sinus rinses, antihistamines, sterrimar spray and oddly, reflux can cause a blocked nose.My specialist put me on the super dooper Gaviscon for three weeks. Good luck.
