...aibu that she's an AWFUL public speaker -
"My message is clear"
"As I said in my statement"
"As I said very clearly in my statement"
And the god awful every other line -
"The fact of the matter is"

Still hard to believe she's actually the Home Secretary, a role that should be vital in this crisis. I suppose the fact that she's untrustworthy and incompetent means she fits right in with the current cabinet.

Thedogscollar · 23/05/2020 00:35

She is the personification of SMUGAngry and fecking annoying

PicsInRed · 23/05/2020 00:40

or the asian /afro street version of "ENGLISH" that she is using

What a disgraceful comment.

CrowdedHouseinQuarantine · 23/05/2020 00:44

i think i read it is very posh not to pronounce the g on a ing

Euclid · 23/05/2020 00:52

The thing that irritates me all the time about the dreadful Home Secretary's dreadful delivery is that she always say "rekanise" instead of "recognise". The"g" is lost in her pronunciation.

Alsohuman · 23/05/2020 01:09

Have you got anything constructive to add @PicsInRed? Or are you here just to criticise everyone else’s posts?

SharonasCorona · 23/05/2020 01:15

I really want to know what the typo was in the title? 🤔

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 23/05/2020 01:29

I don't think I have heard any male MPs or ministers have their accents decimated quite so much on MN.
I speak like that or near enough - it is a regional dialect.
I didnt even vote Tory but this thread is ridiculous. Criticise someone on their policies, yes, sure. However did she say anything that was indecipherable? No
We want women to be treated as equals but then we tear them down on points that do not substantiate who they are and WHAT they say.

ladybirdsarelovely33 · 23/05/2020 01:33

@Alsohuman @PicsinRed is quite right. That remark by @ANTIBS was deeply offensive

Redolent · 23/05/2020 01:36

Why do MNHQ have to declare every time they edit a title? Better still why can’t we just edit titles ourselves, at least once? Looks so messy.

Anyway she’s a poor speaker, lacking in confidence and always stumbling.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 23/05/2020 01:54

I once had an evil boss /friend /neighbour /acquaintance and the universal rule was if you have any perceived lack of something, then you were fair game and don't deserve tolerance or compassion because you don't know the meaning of it.

AuntyRigsby · 23/05/2020 02:09

aibu that she's an AWFUL public speaker

YANBU

BigChocFrenzy · 23/05/2020 02:37

She's arrogant and incompetent

She's dodgy - she was eventually sacked by Theresa May for unauthorised secret talks with Israeli government ministers

but Boris keeps her around because she's no threat to him - noone would choose her over him

JudyCoolibar · 23/05/2020 02:54

Her utter stupidity and incompetence offends me much more than her pronunciation. How could anyone, let alone any government minister, turn up in public and claim credit for greatly improved shoplifting figures over a period when shops weren't allowed to open?

longwayoff · 23/05/2020 06:18

I don't care how she speaks, she's an utterly unpleasant person with horrible views and beliefs.

KuckFnows · 23/05/2020 07:53

And your point is..

Apart from criticism, which you
all clearly have in abundance...

theculture · 23/05/2020 08:25

Terrible woman, terrible views, terrible politician

But I have always thought absolutely stunning looking

Peregrina · 23/05/2020 08:30

I was more bothered about her mangling of statistics - that time she talked about something thousand, something thousand, making it impossible to work out what figure she meant.

notonmywatchyouwont · 23/05/2020 09:05

Haha yes she is absolutely stunning. I'm sure she knows that too!

hollieberrie · 23/05/2020 09:08

Agree that she is beautiful. Great hair and bone structure.

KuckFnows · 23/05/2020 09:31

She is absolutely gorgeous. I loved the red she wore yesterday, it really suited her.

Miriel · 23/05/2020 09:32

She can't be doing too badly given that the majority of the criticisms in this thread are classist remarks about her accent.

DippyAvocado · 23/05/2020 10:32

Since the only positive most people can come up with about her are her looks, perhaps she could go off and be a catalogue model or something rather than Home Secretary, which relies on having a few more attributes than just looking good.

FliesandPies · 23/05/2020 10:46

Do we HAVE to bring her looks into it? ffs
