To think it's strange to send your wife a romantic present every day?

An acquaintance has had presents ordered online and sent to her by her husband every day during lockdown. He is isolating at home with her and their kids so it's not as though he's away and sending her presents because of that.

Literally every day she puts a post on Facebook saying 'today's present', and it's been all kinds of things ranging from a huge box of new clothes from an online retailer, to Louboutins, to flip flops, to underwear. Every. Single. Day.

AIBU to think this is strange, and wasteful, behaviour?

Sounds like he's trying to overcompensate for something he's done

I'd be pissed if I was expected to be the one up to answer the door for the parcels all the time. Other than that, it's too try-hardy to be natural. He's either cheating or she buys them for herself, or she's blackmailing him. She might be addicted to shopping or something.

A woman I worked with sent herself flowers on Valentines day and pretended they were from a fictitious guy she'd been seeing who was crazy about her (her sister outed her). There's nowt as strange as folk.

If it is him buying, I'd be thinking he's feeling guilty about something. Something big...
