Those who are furloughed, or working from home, just wondering what time you're getting up and getting on with homeschooling/work/whatever else you're filling your days with.
Me about half eight. Though I have had the odd lie in.

About 5 so I get a couple of hours to myself to do household stuff, feed the cats and sort out the small animals before DH & DD (home from uni) get up at about 7. Then we walk the dogs and DD & I do the horses. Then WFH (run my own small business). Nothing much has changed. I dislike getting up late as I feel that so much of the day is wasted.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 21/05/2020 09:55

Furloughed here. DS and I are both early birds so we're waking up naturally between 6am-7am as we normally do. I don't want to get too out of a routine anyway as I'm hoping we will be back at work/school sooner rather than later!

Therealfatshady · 21/05/2020 09:56

6am. I begin online lessons at 8am and go through until 7.30. It's a tiring week for me!

millymollymoomoo · 21/05/2020 09:56

Wfh with kids aged 12 and 13
I get up at 7 and start work at 8
I get the kids up at 8.40 and they start school work at 9.30
Trying to keep some semblance of structure and routine otherwise they’d stay in bed till lunchtime
Was very disappointed that secondary schools are not going back in June !

Am I the only one who’s kids don’t recognize lock down in their waking times?!

WanderingMilly · 21/05/2020 10:12

Lockdown has messed up my sleep pattern somewhat.
I always used to be up at 6am, wide awake without the alarm and ready to bounce out of bed. In summer, often earlier because it was light.

However, I used to be at work all day, out and about, meeting up with friends, coffee, chats, shopping.....I was on the go all day. That meant when I came home I was tired and wanted to wind down, and often went to bed early.

Now this doesn't happen, I am not in the least bit tired at the end of the day. I go to bed but don't sleep, so have the TV on watching night-time crap. That in turns messes up my sleep so I am waking later and lying in. This does not bode well for when I get back to work....

G0ldF1nch20 · 21/05/2020 10:12

Was supposed to be off shift today

Was requested to work today, last night. So up after 6am. Started WFH at 7am
12 hour shift

I work a rota of days or nights

anothernamechangeagain · 21/05/2020 10:20

Between 6am&7am depending when my 3yo and puppy wake.
I can only dream of 8.30 😂

zingally · 21/05/2020 10:25

I'm furloughed as well.

My day has shifted a bit later as well. Before all this, I was religiously in bed by 10pm, now it's more like 11pm.

Used to get up with the alarm at 6:45. Now it's averaging to somewhere between 7:30 and 8:00am.

marblesgoing · 21/05/2020 10:40

Most days up and ready to start schooling for 9 am

The last two days been more like 10 am before we are ready. I have a raging ear infection so sleeping isn't happening and no pain relief is working Confused

Older dd gets herself organised around 9 but today she's started abit later Grin
All school work still gets done and I'm furloughed so have done loads of jobs around the house and garden that I never have time for.

Stompythedinosaur · 21/05/2020 10:50

Around 8am to get ready to do Joe Wicks at 9am. The main reason we've stuck with it is because it means the dc have to be up and ready to start the day.

When I'm going into work I have to leave at 6.45 so it is still a big lie in!

ghostyslovesheets · 21/05/2020 10:58

I wake up at 8 but lie in till 9-9:30

Working from home- I normally do 20hrs over 3 days but am now working over 5 so often just do 11-3

devildeepbluesea · 21/05/2020 11:00

Awake at 6, up by 7 latest to walk dog and exercise. I hate lying in bed in the morning.

unappreciativeoh · 21/05/2020 11:05

It was half 8 but getting nearer 9 most mornings with the odd day after 9. The kids are up earlier but just watch tv till I come down.

sarahcoffeelover · 21/05/2020 11:15

I'm writing this from the comfort of my own bed. Have no intention of gettting out til midday

Dillo10 · 21/05/2020 11:16

WFH with DH, no kids
We are getting up about 7.45ish, shower/breakfast and starting work about 8.30
Although I have been known to have a nap in the afternoon (I work for myself so can do this)
Also been staying in pyjamas too much

Andpopwenttheweasle · 21/05/2020 11:46

When ever the toddler wakes me, about 6am, same as pre lock down! My husband works early, 7-15.30 and I tag him and work 16.00-21.00. For us it's the same hours as pre lock down just both from home! The long days are killing me even more than usual without the occasional 'rest' at playgroup/classes during the day and an active almost 2 year old!

actiongirl1978 · 21/05/2020 11:51

5am most days. I walk the dog, do a hiit workout, water the garden and get the DC up for school (they have online lessons from 9am).

But I am an earlybird always have been. My eyes ping open as soon as the light changes, at the moment about 4.45 I just wake up.

I do have a nap every day though, sometimes 2!

Backtoreality1 · 21/05/2020 11:55

6-6:30 if the dog is being generous....but sometimes having to get up at 5am to let him into the garden. means I get a good long walk with him before anyone else is around, and I am now taking him a little further afield. Struggling to get settled into work before 10am. Occasionally going into work, but mainly working from home.

MsAwesomeDragon · 21/05/2020 11:58

I'm getting up at 6:45 and at my computer ready to work at 7. I wake dd and dh up at 9, and we start home school/dh starts work at about 10. That means I can fit in about 3 hours of work before I have to help her get started with her work (which is apparently my job rather than his because I'm a teacher and therefore better at it than him). I then do easy/short tasks while I'm also supervising her work (we do about 2-3 hours of school work a day, she's year 5). Then once she's finished her formal work I can work undisturbed again for the afternoon. I'm often finished by 4/4:30, but that depends on when my pupils send me their work to be marked, so I might have a slower afternoon and have to work later.

Glitteryone · 21/05/2020 11:59

Some day’s I don’t get out off bed until 10am or later, if I’ve been up to silly hours watching Netflix.

Other days, I’m up at 6am.

I find the days that I’m up early, I’m washed dressed and motivated. I get the housework all done and the kids school work done.

On the days that I get up late, it’s a disaster. The day is normally spent in pjs and school work doesn’t get looked at (we catch up later in the week or at the weekend before any education police pipe up).

Coronacoaster I think it’s called! I need some kind off normality back ASAP!

Blacksideupanddownagain · 21/05/2020 12:05

DD gets up at 6am and myself or DH will join her downstairs around 6.30ish when our younger DS wakes. The other one of us gets to lie in until 7ish but we both need be showered and dressed by the time one of us starts work by 8am.

It's become more relaxed as lockdown has continued, the kids don't get dressed until after breakfast around 9am.

Normally we'd all be up by 6am and out the door for work/nursery 7.30a.m so it's been a really nice opportunity to relax.

CremeEggThief · 21/05/2020 12:20

I'm furloughed and DS is 17. Most days between 10.30 and 11 a.m. I was awake at 8.30 a.m. yesterday and didn't go back to sleep for the first time in weeks.

Disclaimer: I rarely get up before 10 am when not at work anyway. Even when DS was tiny, 8.30 was the earliest. I'm very much an owl.

TimetohittheroadJack · 21/05/2020 12:25

I’m feeling like a right lazy bastard! I’m still in bed, woke up about 11 and playing on my phone. Teenagers will get up soon, I’ll make brunch about 1 and they can do schoolwork them. I given up trying to get them up earlier, they are grumpy and are less productive In the morning so i just let them regulate their own sleeping and studying

UngainlyGiraffe · 21/05/2020 12:29

7:30 if I have DS. Today I got up at 9. Yesterday I had the morning off so stayed in bed until 12!

I hate wasting the day but it all feels a bit pointless right now.

I used to get up at 5:30 to go to the gym before work.
