Is it me or is she a complete car crash to watch on the daily coronavirus briefings?

MarcelineMissouri · 19/05/2020 18:19

She just sounded fed up to me!

Frazzled2207 · 19/05/2020 18:20

I thought both of them were dire today. But Raab yesterday was the bottom of the barrel. I don’t like Harries either but she is enormously better at these than Dame Angela who genuinely doesn’t come across as helpful at all. I assume she’s got more to contribute in other ways?

Where’s Boris? Before he got ill he was doing them almost every day.

longwayoff · 19/05/2020 18:21

Time to start blaming the scientists for Boris's complete mishandling of this emergency. Let's witchhunt them and their stats and shift responsibility for it over there. Yes, look over there. Not me guv. I've got clean hands, what with washing them so much. Under guidance, obviously.

Port1aCastis · 19/05/2020 18:23

I like her she's real

Yes this ^^^

IncrediblySadToo · 19/05/2020 18:24

She hadn't been too bad until today. But today she was a total car crash

Stutter, stumble, lie, silence
Eyes averted the whole time
Body language was dreadful

Frazzled2207 · 19/05/2020 18:25

@whereistheone
What do you think would be a useful question?

MarshaBradyo · 19/05/2020 18:25

I liked her. Didn’t waffle on.

PicsInRed · 19/05/2020 18:26

I hope that her stance made clear to all concerned that the scientists won't be taking the fall over this and will speak to what happened.

Good for them and good for her.

MarshaBradyo · 19/05/2020 18:27

And the press were irritating today.

IncrediblySadToo · 19/05/2020 18:28

I hope that her stance made clear to all concerned that the scientists won't be taking the fall over this and will speak to what happened

I hope that's the case!

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 19/05/2020 18:29

Where’s Boris? Before he got ill he was doing them almost every day.

Takes a long time to recover from being as ill has he was. I’d be surprised if he was up to anything like a full time job yet.

ibblebibbledibble · 19/05/2020 18:31

I like her.

IsolatedIzzy · 19/05/2020 18:33

She was stumbling but those new graphs aren't the clearest. I thought she was very honest tonight, she certainly wasn't following the party line. She clearly didn't think the Govt should have attached dates for the stages of releasing the lockdown.

longwayoff · 19/05/2020 18:35

I hope you're right @PicsInRed and that she hasn't got any skeletons in the cupboard or she'll be getting the Professor Ferguson treatment shortly.

BubblegumFactory · 19/05/2020 18:37

I don’t watch any of the them. Can’t abide seeing the public being gaslighted and fobbed off with non answers.
At a time like this, clear and honest communication is vital and we just aren’t receiving it. Mixed messages, outright lies, it’s shameful.

PicsInRed · 19/05/2020 18:39

longwayoff

That's true, we dont "disappear" or have a string of mysterious window accidents...we have the British Press. Scariest prospect of all.

PurpleDaisies · 19/05/2020 18:46

What was she supposedly lying about @IncrediblySadToo?

cheesemongery · 19/05/2020 18:49

Thought this was a Loose Women thread.

RigaBalsam · 19/05/2020 18:56

Trending on twitter. The divide between the government and the scientists.

She was very adamant about the test, track and trace being essential in all of this.

notonmywatchyouwont · 19/05/2020 19:48

Lol yep I had to be careful I typed her name correctly, I'm usually more likely to be talking about Andrea McLean lol!

OP posts:
Suze1621 · 19/05/2020 20:20

I thought she came accross very poorly and really didn't inspire confidence with her defensive attitude.

66redballons · 19/05/2020 21:08

What a nasty thread. She’s is a scientist, i don’t think they take public speaking classes.

cansu · 19/05/2020 22:38

I thought she seemed quite annoyed with the government line and was clearly trying to distance herself from the decisions taken by ministers. I think Therese Coffey's statement on BBC will have pissed off the scientists.
