To ask you all to tell me to eat sensibly all week?

I struggle with controlled eating. Had lots of support in the past. With the NHS now for support but this suspended.

I respond well to others saying 'just do it'.

So AIBU to ask you for some late night encouragement to fill my head with positive thoughts so I wake up raring to go?

You can absolutely eat sensibly all week. Go for it! You've got this!

NewbieSM · 18/05/2020 05:57

Just make a meal plan and buy only those foods. It's much easier to stick to if you've already committed by buying and preparing healthy options. Good luck!

You've got this. If you are about to eat something rubbish, just remember I am right there in front of you waggling my finger. PUT IT BACK. YOU CAN HAVE AN APPLE INSTEAD.

scochran · 18/05/2020 06:04

I wish I could do it. It only takes me 3 days of good, healthy eating and I know I already feel better. It's a satisfying feeling but I never quite do it. I think I will try this week.

changeagainandagain · 18/05/2020 06:05

Love this, you can do it!

One massive thing that helped me was that if I did mess up I'd write off the whole day or sometimes the week and say to myself start again tomorrow!

Guess what, that's just silly!

If I have a little pig out I think that's ok my next meal will be great.

Just stick to the 80/20 rule and you'll be amazing, 80 good, 20 not so good!

You can absolutely do this!!

And remember, if you have a slip up at any point, you wouldn't throw out a whole bunch of flowers because one rose started to look droopy!

Draw a line under any slip up straight away and immediately revert to your sensible and healthy ways, which I know you're going to smash!!!!

Thanks everyone!

So needed a few supportive voices.

It's getting out of that 'I've blown it so just eat crap for the day/week' mentality.

This is a tad extreme but I am using a blood sugar monitor (left over from when I had GD a while ago) and it is keeping me in check and helping me make sensible choices..... after 8 weeks of utter gluttony and the gain of a stone a I do not need!
