To ask mners to post positive things about places they've lived.

I've seen a couple of threads making disparaging comments about working class and/or northern towns so I'm going against that and posting positive things.

As my username says I live in Corby and I love it.
We bought a 3 bedroom terraced, with decent sized garden in a quiet area with no parking issues for under £160k
There's loads of woodland and we've seen so much nature, it has a small but nice shopping area. At the other side of town is a retail park with the usual Matalan, Currys, M&S and Asda. Everything is within walking distance and on the whole people are incredibly friendly.

Love living in suffolk coastal. Not busy, coast and ancient woodland

There are disparaging comments about all of the U.K., to be fair. They really annoy me. It’s like some people are determined to reduce themselves to speaking like arseholes about the places people call home and live their lives. It’s just not necessary. Such small mindedness.

Anyways, I’m from London/Surrey borders. Happy here. Always lived here. Lots to keep us busy not too far from anywhere. South Downs not too far and very lovely. Friendly, down to earth people in my town. Well I’m the main. Try not to mix with any fuckers, like most people!

But... I love so many places in England that I’ve visited. And have a long list. Outside of England I’ve never been to Wales or NOrthern Ireland and would love to (thinking by car so can do both in one holiday. Again, Scotland, one fleeting trip to Edinburgh 30 years ago so would love to go there too.

Well im from manchester but now live in scotland and i love both places. I love freedom and buzz of the city and i love the countryside here aswell.

I lived in central Johannesburg. The early mornings were quite pleasant as you could hear hardly any gunshots from around 5AM until nearly noon... Also, the bars on the windows/burglar alarms/armed response guards and razor wire everywhere meant that it felt relatively safe once you were inside your property

Ok so born and bought up in a small market town near Alton Towers. Not the most cosmopolitan place but fantastic for growing up. I have now returned after 25 years and I don't regret it. Bit lacking in some facilities, but the friendliness of the people more than makes up for it.

I have live in Dundee....a city that when I arrived was very down at heel, but the regeneration it underwent over the last few years means that it is a truly wonderful city and I would recommend everyone to visit. (although as an English person living there, you had to be a little cautious in some of the pubs).

Before that I was living in Bristol. Nice city, great amenities, but the people were a little too 'Southern' ie no chat at the bus stops or too much traffic. Also the one way system was a nightmare!! Can't wait to go back as a tourist, but not sure I'd live there again.

Before that I was in Cardiff for a few years. Again, lovely city with great amenities. Slight xenophobic feel which meant you avoided some areas, but loved my time there nevertheless. Fantastic theatre!

I live in London and love it for now, I'm from the Channel Islands and loved growing up and living there too. :-)

I live in Cornwall which is absolutely beautiful. So lucky to be able to go to the beach. One downside is social life eg you have to travel for concerts etc & there isn’t half as much going on as in other areas. Will feel for DD as she gets older but hopefully she’ll appreciate the beauty of the area & maybe build on the surfing/kayaking experience she’s had.
