God it’s so fucking boring! What are people actually doing with their time?

I got up at 7am. Lounged on the couch until 9am. Took the dog for a walk, got back at 10am.

Since then I’ve hoovered up, polished and put a wash on. And it’s still not even 12pm 😩

I got up about 9, went for a walk in the woods with the dog. Came home, sat in the garden and had a coffee. Did some washing, etc. Cooked brunch for myself and my teen DC. Hoovered my car out, cut the grass, tidied the garden. Cooked dinner. Went for a socially distanced walk with a friend. Did some yoga.

Not that different to a normal Sunday really!

JacketPotatoQueen · 17/05/2020 22:29

Got up, put a wash on, went for a run. Came home to find DD wanting company to go for a run so went again (much shorter!) for a run with her. Home, lunch, gardening for the afternoon. Lounging on the sofa ever since.....

sarahC40 · 17/05/2020 22:40

Got up for nine to hoof teens out of the house with dh for a walk - they’re becoming a bit nocturnal and need a better sleep pattern. I decided this. They didn’t agree but I cooked pain au chocolat for breakfast so they forgave me and I had the house to myself for one delicious hour. Then I sat for five hours, writing, differentiating and recording voiceovers for lessons for years 7, 8 and 10. Dh came wandering through a million times saying, ‘oh sorry, I thought you’d finished.’
Cooked roast, washed up, moaned at everyone for being crap about helping. Went for a walk on my own to calm down. Came back and they were in uproar because it’s apparently now too dangerous to go for a brief walk in the dark (rural absolutely none out except me). Going to bed.

ohtheholidays · 17/05/2020 22:41

Today I lazed in bed till 11am,once I'd got up I made the bed got washed and dressed and went and did some shopping.

By 1 I was at my DD's(she doesn't live at home anymore but I'm allowed to visit her because of her health)and we made a lovely lorraine pascale lamb dish together we had that for lunch followed by chocolate eclairs and then we cuddled up on the sofa and watched a movie.

We got to spend 4 lovely hours together and then I came home to dinner with my DH and our 2DC that still live at home, followed by cwtches with our DD12 and us all bingewatching old call the midwifes.

I try to find something different to do every single day even if it's just watching a movie I haven't seen before(skystore is making a fortune out of me)reading a book, doing some gardening, shopping online for birthday presents and bits for fathers day, doing some sketching, singing and dancing with our DC,making something from scratch in the kitchen.

Just the little things like that seem to make my days move on just that little bit quicker

MerryDeath · 17/05/2020 22:51

Moonshinemisses · 17/05/2020 22:56

Just finished a run of night shift, got home before anyone was awake so took Dh a cuppa in bed and got in for a cuddle which turned into some great sex. Then we spent the day organizing the gargage & build 2 big shelving racks to store all our stuff. Watched Spiderman far from home & ate delicious Korean beef & kimchee rice made by my eldest son. Now I'm enjoying a raspberry gin with sparkling water & lime.

mamaduckbone · 17/05/2020 23:00

Lazed in bed with dh and coffee until 9.30, then had breakfast.
Went for a walk in the local woods with dh and the dcs for a couple of hours, pottered and read in the garden for a bit, had a socially distant Pimms with the neighbours, Zoomed my family.
Had dinner, uploaded tomorrow's lessons, watched a bit of TV...another day gone. If it's sunny enough to be outside I don't really get bored.

Passthecake30 · 17/05/2020 23:08

Woke up at 6 and waited for 3hours for the rest of the family to join me, faffed about on the internet while waiting. Made a cooked breakfast, then did nothing for a couple of hours, until I baked with dd. Made lunch, went for a 2hr walk across the fields, came back, listened to dd read, laid in the garden listening to next doors garden party where there was loads of young kids happily shrieking and not social distancing...made a roast and supervised dp making desert. Watched ready player one with the kids.

The day went by very quickly and I feel like I don’t have much to show for it, however I am very busy wfh with the kids underfoot mon-fri so I won’t beat myself up.

Biomedical · 17/05/2020 23:09

I love this thread! Today my 2 year old slept in til 9am, we had toast and tea for breakfast while watching the gruffalo. We played outside for an hour then he played in his room while I did a university assignment. Lunch then we had a nap together. Woke up at 3.30 and went back out in the garden, had a ‘picnic’ for tea in his playhouse (I don’t fit so sat in the doorway), then had a bath together and watched Madagascar before bed. Seems most people did a lot more than us today!

arickitupyourpompom · 17/05/2020 23:21

Got up at 7 fed the dogs. Was online for about two hours finding bits and pieces for newly decorated room. Went to Waitrose to pick up a few bit. Did some weeding and planting for a few hours. Sat on a lounger with a glass of Prosecco and a book then boiled potatoes for the bbq. Had dinner and then played with my son in the Xbox ( not a normal occurance but I actually enjoyed it) started to watch maigret but went back to the Xbox. One episode of peaky blinders. Now in bed.

StCharlotte · 17/05/2020 23:29

Did a bit of gardening.
Went for a five mile walk.
Did family quiz (16 teams).
WON FAMILY QUIZ!!
Nattered to said family.

whydobirds · 17/05/2020 23:33

Had a lie in
Made a coffee and walnut cake, an orange and lemon cake, some fresh filled pasta, some oat cakes and a huge mess of my kitchen.

Cleaned kitchen.

Picked up DD from her dad for the week.

Spent three hours with horses. Groomed all three horses, plaited manes and tails, gave my big boy a massage, cleaned out tue geldings sheaths (gross), cleared up a barrow full of shit, cleaned out the water butts, helped DD bath the pony.

Washed the car

Hoovered the house

Helped DD find clothes online to buy as she's growing out of everything

Pretty standard weekend day, tbh. I'm working 50+ hours a week currently so have to pack a lot into weekends.

highlandcoo · 17/05/2020 23:42

Woke up at 8, cup of tea in bed and did usual half hour of Duolngo Italian.
Quick shower then ate breakfast while watching Andrew Marr with DH.
An hour of gardening; weeding and digging over beds before ordering a ton of top soil to fill up the bare-looking borders .. where does it all go?
Drove to local park for walk with DH and discovered that if you keep walking out beyond the park there's a fab riverside walk we'd never come across before.
Picked up Asda click-and-collect on the way home.
Smoked salmon cream cheese bagels for lunch.
Popped round to neighbour's to drop off a few tins for the food bank at her church. Had a quick chat from a distance.
Watched La Gabbianella e Il Gatto (The Seagull and the Cat) animated film for my online Italian class homework. Really good.
Read reviews of The Crown on Mumsnet Telly Addicts and caught up on a few emails.
Gardening again, transferring gigantic courgette plants from pots indoors to veg patch and hoping they survive!
Cooked sea bass with home-made garlic butter for tea. The garlic butter has been in the freezer since last year and I keep forgetting to use it.
Watched first three episodes of Normal People and really enjoyed it.
Now going to read my book, which I need to finish in order to move onto something more interesting.
On the whole, it's been a nice day.

GlitteryUnicornSparkles · 17/05/2020 23:54

Up at 6.30am
Quick tidy round, folded washing from out of drier, fed the animals, made a brew, got ready for work, watered the plants in the garden, left for work at 7.45am.
Arrived home approx. 4.30pm.
Washed the pots my son left from lunch, quick shower & pjs, made & ate tea, watched a couple of episodes on Netflix, chatted to a friend, cleaned up from making tea, fed animals again, sorted through some of my sons old books for a friends little boy, cleaned my outside light and replaced the bulb, spent some time with my injured cat (shes on crate rest) and changed her litter. Sat in bed browsing fb and here.
