I have to decide whether to send DD3 back to school on June 1st. I am a SAHM, so I don't 'need' to send her back for work purposes.

The school has told us the measures they'll be taking, and the general message is "We'll be here for your children, but they aren't going to get any more teaching than the children who stay at home."

So Google Classroom set work. Groups of 8 kept 2m apart. Eat lunch in Classroom. Don't mix with other groups.

YABU - don't send her in. YANBU - send her in.

I'll be sending Y6 DD back in. Not for childcare but for the education and the social experience. I realise it will be different, but she needs to be back with her teacher and her friends rather being with family 24/7.

She'll only be in 2 days a week but she's looking forward to it and I'm confident it's the right decision for us.

Mocktail, do you know that she will definitely be with her own teacher? It's highly unlikely that DS would be with his Sad

Sadly, I think the Y6 education won't be different from the online stuff (if your school does this) and the social side will be incredibly different.

My Y6 DS took one look at the picture of his socially distanced classroom and it was a big nope from him.

(Before anyone says, I completely respect anyone else's decision, I know others don't have the choice, I know not everyone agrees....Grin)
