To ask if any of you got pregnant with PCOS

So, we are not planning on having kids for I'd say at least another 2 years, but I was diagnosed with PCOS about 3-4 years ago since I have been worried about getting pregnant when the time comes... I am on no contraception - using condoms all the time - as I didn't want to take any hormones into my body + I get migraines so can't be on the pill really. I still get my period bang on, 21 days however I bleed very little... like 3 days perhaps. First 2 days mid heavy, 3rd barley bleeding then patches of blood and brown discharge for another 2-3 days...
Apart from that I deal with mild acne and very sensitive boobs all the time that might indicate some hormone imbalances.
Every now and then I get a bit of a fear of getting pregnant when the time comes... I'm in my late 20s and I know that infertility can affect many lives but just to stear my thoughts to a positive direction does anyone have successfull pregnancy stories with PCOS?

Yes, first pregnancy was third round of clomid, second pregnancy we caught naturally on our first month of trying (later miscarried), then got pregnant again 3 months later on first month trying.

Yes, in 7 years of fertility treatments (clomid, gonal f, IUI and IVF) I had two moscarriages, one ectopic, one termination for medical reasons and now pregnant and it looks like this one might stick.

It was a looooong ride, so don't wait till you're 35 if you know you want kids.

Thanks for your replies. The doctors have confirmed my weight is fine, I am only 152cm height and weigh 8 stone which is within the bracket of a good BMI. I also work out 5 times a week but on 30mins hiit at a time. Last time I went to the doctors they suggested changing my diet, so I mentioned (sarcastically) what my diet consists off, breakfast smoothie, lunch is normally a salad and dinner is healthly like a vegetable curry. All my ingredients are weighed out to suit my fitness regime. Its so hard as I feel so defeated about the whole situation and just know I am ready for a baby. Its positive to hear good outcomes of PCOS. I just hope it happens for us.

I was diagnosed in 2016, have been on metformin since then and pregnant 3 times, one ending in a missed miscarriage and the other two pregnancies being successful. Currently sat feeding my 6 week old, whilst watching Ben & Holly with my 2 year old, now. Feeling very lucky.

Yes, I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 28 and trying to conceive - within a month of diagnosis I was put on Clomid and was pregnant with my son 3 months later. Four years later I went back on Clomid and was pregnant with my daughter 2 months later! Take heart - obviously there are different types of PCOS but it was relatively straightforward for me once it was identified. Definitely worth trying Clomid.

It didn’t happen for my unfortunately. We started trying when I was 27 and tried for about 13 years till I turned 40 (I’m 43 now).

I didn’t get ivf due to a balls up in the nhs (well they stopped funding the fertility clinic at my local hospital for my county - hospital is in another county we are on the border 🤦🏻‍♀️). Then by the time I got past testing etc I was too old for nhs ivf and we couldn’t afford private.

But that’s rare and although I have regular cycles I wasn’t ovulating (also light periods only 3 days tops but 32 day ish cycle).

It isn’t worth worrying about now though. Just go with it at the time, that old classic of relax (how many times did I hear that) and try not to obsess with it. It’s hard as ttc is so consuming.

There are benefits to being child free now though. I’m all for that. I couldn’t cope with a baby now. Also have adhd and struggle organising myself let alone anyone else.

@DontTouchTheMoustache

Not me but a good friend was trying for 4 years and conceived through IVF on her second try then while on mat leave fell pregnant naturally with her second.
Very much like me (and my sil!) apart from the timing.
