Look up the 8 week blood sugar diet by Michael Mosely.

People lose different amounts of weight in a week, it would depend on your sex, age, height, how heavy you are and activity levels.

The most I have personally lost in a week was 10lb on Slimming World but I hate the plan so didn't stick to it longer term.

There’s a new low carb boot camp coming up next week. Sign up for that - it sounds like it’s going to be brutal but hopefully effective!!

A long time ago I was a slender, healthy 15 year old.

I still clearly remember the day when I spotted a diet booklet in the newsagents emblazoned with the amounts of weight you could loose in a week - anywhere between 4 and 10 (!) pounds.

I bought the book and went about trying the diets in rotation. I ended up with ten years of eating disorders. Obviously I am not blaming the book, I had other issues, but I still shudder when I read 'what can I loose in a week'. You could loose any amount of weight in a week, it could be fat, it could be water, hell, it could be a body part, but whatever you loose in that week will have no bearing on your body in the long term, and I wish I could go back and tell myself that. Whatever goes on with our weight and how we feel about ourselves is never fixed by a week long crash diet.

I'm sorry, I know this isn't why you posted and I really don't want to sound patronising or annoy you, but it just struck a chord with me.

I was about to say I did x y and x and lost this much then read @SquashedSpring’a post.

A crash diet works but it never works long term. I’m fatter than when I did it a few years ago and it was like three weeks because It was unsustainable. All I got out of it is that I know I need fewer carbs, far less sugar and lots more veg and then I slowly lose weight. When I exercise and eat well it works even better and I feel better about myself and everything.

12lb - meal replacement high protein low carb no booze.

I am very overweight though. You’d not lost anything like that amount if you’re only 2/3 stone overweight.
