This gov is going to continue to make the worst decisions for society to recover from COVID?

Not talking about control and management of the pandemic, which is already clearly dire, but I'm depressingly certain they'll make the wrong call for everything as society and economy try to recover. More austerity, higher taxes (but not for those who can most afford them), continuing ignorance of the needs and experiences of anyone not wealthy, white and male, and why those matter (and could and would aid recovery). It just seems invitable they will choose all the wrong answers and for the wrong problems in the first place.

Thoughts have been triggered by finishing reading 'Invisible Women' and how the lack of data about women, or giving a toss about the lack of it, harms women and society as a whole.

I agree, women have always been the least represented group a global pandemic will never change that.

WHO published an article about how female lead households are the worst hit by the pandemic but it didn't get any limelight.

Single mothers have been one of the most disproportionate affected groups in society during this pandemic. Everyone rushed to help the vunerable/shielded/70+ and understanding so and rightly so, but no offer of help was published for single parent households to cope with increased utilities, shopping with children, lack of childcare/support.

I didn't understand why retailers didn't push for a hour of child friendly shopping hours so others didn't have to worry about shopping with children 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yup @CoachBombay , that might have made sense.

And I bet they'll rush in to save business and moneymaking without thinking about childcare and how much that and women's unpaid labour enables everything else to happen.
