If it wasn't so serious it would be laughable.

How do I wage war on my fat?

Nonsense, utter rubbish.

This country needs to deal with the high levels of obesity, I say that as an overweight person myself.

We do need to wage war on obesity, we really do.

But calling it a 'war' gives the wrong mindset.
I've been 'waging war' on my fat for as long as I can remember, and it just led to me hating my body rather than helping it and becoming morbidly obese with no self-esteem.
I'm now trying to value myself a bit more, using food to nourish my body rather than punish it, taking some (well-deserved) time to exercise and guess what? I'm losing weight.
I know this all sounds a bit fluffy and touchy-feely, and that is so far from the sort of person I am. But I really think that if you think of obesity as a war, then your body is the enemy - and that's not going to go well!
