Is a general multivitamin enough or do you take extra on top?

I have slightly low vitD and iron. Other than that, all good.

Thanks!

None, but I do go out with not much on every day and no suncream on for about 20 mins from April to Oct when sunny in the UK for vit D.

A vegan multivitamin and vitamin K drops. During the Winter I swap this for a Vit K&D combined tablet. I was given some hair, skin & nails tablets the other day but I’m not sure they work.

I'm on prescription iron, folic acid, and B12 as I don't absorb those properly and was very deficient. I top that up with vitamin D as I'm housebound with no garden so I'm rarely in the sun.

Everything else I get through my diet - and blood tests back that up so I don't feel the need to take anything else.

AramintaLee · 14/05/2020 21:59

Quite a lot... biotin, B12, selenium, zinc, iron, Vit D and folic acid. Some of them are grouped in a drink so it never feels like too much. The Vit D and iron are optimum levels as I get deficient so I think they'll be a lifelong commitment. Biotin has done wonders for my nails.

funmummy48 · 14/05/2020 21:59

Iron, Vitamin D and Magnesium.

FourEyesGood · 14/05/2020 22:00

I take Spatone in a glass of water with a soluble Vit C and zinc supplement. I used to be slightly anaemic but my iron levels are good now.

Myohmy111 · 14/05/2020 22:02

Vit D. The melanin in my skin Is generally linked with a poorer ability to absorb the Vit D from the sun.

Blanca87 · 14/05/2020 22:05

Ubiqnicol, magnesium, Vit B12, Vit D, CBD oil and sometimes flax seed oil.

Difficultcustomer · 14/05/2020 22:05

Vitamin D

Blanca87 · 14/05/2020 22:06

Oh an a lemon a day in 4 pints of water which is 100% your Vit C.

Blanca87 · 14/05/2020 22:08

But I also drink about 1 bottles of wine a day at the moment so all the vits are counteracted by alcoholism. 😬

Autumnchill · 14/05/2020 22:10

Jellykat · 14/05/2020 22:16

Vit D spray, B12 , Vit E and occasionally Vit C 1000 mg.

hotstepper4 · 14/05/2020 22:22

I take a multivitamin, extra calcium and vit d as I was slightly deficient and 2 marshmallow root capsules which helps keep my interstitial cystitis at bay

workshyfop · 14/05/2020 22:23

Vitamin D

All those taking Magnesium, are people generally deficient and what does it do?

Mustbethewine · 14/05/2020 22:24

Vitamin c, vitamin D, zinc, B6 and malt extract with cod liver oil and Vitmanin D

B0bbin · 14/05/2020 22:28

Multivitamins plus iron and vegan omega 3 capsules. If you need to boost iron eat a couple of apricots a day- the vitc they also contain helps you to absorb the iron. A midwife told me this after I was severely anaemic after giving birth and it sorted me out.Smile

SassenachWitch · 14/05/2020 22:30

I’ve recently started taking magnesium and vitamin D, after I started feeling like a 90 year old getting out of bed (I’m 37). My mom recommended them, she’s always taken every vitamin going.

Kwackerly · 14/05/2020 22:31

Spatone liquid iron with berocca first thing (iron absorbs better on empty stomach). I really notice if I stop taking this because I feel so tired. I admit I got this from nigella many years ago.

Menopace, red clover, black cohosh, and sage every evening. Stops the nighttime hot sweats and wanting to strangle my husband for no reason.

namechangenumber2 · 14/05/2020 22:34

Vitamin D spray. I'm new to taking this but the potential link with COVID has made me nervous and as I have been low before I wanted to try and make sure I'm not low currently

PuntoEBasta · 14/05/2020 22:35

I take Floradix tablets, which are iron, B vits, vit C and folic acid, then I am using up the last of the NHS Healthy Start vitamins given to me by the health visitor (vit C, vit D and folic acid). I’ve been quite hot on bare arm time in the sun for the whole family since reading about how many children are vit D deficient in the UK.

Franticbutterfly · 14/05/2020 22:45

10000iu vit d, collagen/biotin mix, multivit, zinc, burdock root, vit c, omegas, sometimes cbd.
