Is a general multivitamin enough or do you take extra on top?

I have slightly low vitD and iron. Other than that, all good.

Thanks!

I have PA so have b12 injections but apart from that no top ups.

I’m hopeless at remembering to take anything. I have menopause support tablets, vitamin B12 & effervescent vitamin C at the moment. In the past I have taken zinc, calcium with vitamin D, iron supplements, starflower oil, evening primrose oil, multi vitamins, probiotics, peppermint capsules, milk thistle, vitamin E & many others. I was a big health shop fan! I really want to start taking probiotics again & to generally boost my immune system with things like echinacea. I also read about a liver cleanse product ( not milk thistle) which appeals, particularly as I’m quite a heavy drinker.

Wellwoman multi vitamin with a fish oil capsule that contains omega 3,6 and 9, flaxseed oil capsules, psyllium husk capsules, inositol + chromium + folate, saw palmetto and collagen. I have PCOS, psoriasis and IBS so picked all these supplements to try and support my body in dealing with them all.

High strength vit C combined with multi vit in a powder you add to water
Zinc carnosine
Omega 3
Magnesium combined with a high strength calcium
Potassium (only because I suffer with leg and foot cramps)

I take Pregnacare Breastfeeding with extra Vitamin D3 (1,000 iui per day) as I am deficient and that level was recommended by my GP. I have a thyroid issue and take thyroxine so I can’t take too many vitamins due to possible side effects / spacing issues.

ButterfliesandMoths · 15/05/2020 00:16

Multi vitamins, vit d, vit c and prescription folic acid

Etcni · 15/05/2020 00:16

Holland & Barrett ABC plus multivitamin, as well as cod liver oil. I notice a big difference in my hair and nails from taking it (assume it's the zinc and biotin).

Thisdressneedspockets · 15/05/2020 02:33

D3 +k2, magnesium, c and zinc

DramaAlpaca · 15/05/2020 02:40

Menopace Plus, because it's seen me through the menopause and I swear it stopped my hot flushes in their tracks as they disappeared within two weeks of starting to take it, and vitamin D. I was deficient in vitamin D, but recent blood tests showed I'm not now.

HoomanMoomin · 15/05/2020 02:44

Just some cheap multivitamin and magnesium 400mg.
I was vit D deficient couple of years ago, so took the liquid for a month and then was told to continue taking over the counter ones. And magnesium is because I drink a lot of water and end up with leg cramps if I don’t take it. It does help. Smile
