To ask if you prefer GHD's or Cloud Nine?

Obviously not everyone has tried both. I've had 2 pairs of GHD's over the last 12 years and have had no complaints.

The last time I was at the hairdressers they used cloud 9 and I was happy with the results.

So anyone tried both? What's your preference?

Or.. what do you use?

You should try posting this in the style and beauty forum

Cloud 9 are the founders of GHD. I've 2 pairs of GHDs, one pair was around 15 years old and brilliant, the pair I bought last year are shite. Not tried Cloud 9, I don't want to spend that much and be disappointed.

I ended up buying Remington Proluxe, they are fantastic and a good price

ProfInkly · 14/05/2020 20:55

I switched to Cloud 9 from GHD and they are fantastic. There was a thread about it recently in style and beauty and the concensus was Cloud 9.

Emlou07 · 14/05/2020 20:56

I'll have a look over there, thanks Grin

I've had both and I prefer Cloud 9. They seem to glide through my hair better.

I have ancient GHDs & they,re great but when I needed straighteners for short hair, I went for Cloud9 on the advice of my hairdresser.

The guy who founded GHD sold them and they started using cheaper components/becoming unreliable which is why my hairdresser switched as she was having to deal with more customer returns. The original GHD guy then went on to set up Cloud9.

franfine · 14/05/2020 21:08

Cloud 9 definitely. Love mine. Don't like the newer ghd. I like that the cloud 9 has a temperature control too.

SerenDippitty · 14/05/2020 21:09

I had a pair of original GHDs for 10 years - they eventually gave up the ghost just before Christmas and after some humming and hawing I got another set of GHDs which I find just as good. I haven't tried Cloud Nine. Mind you I did try a Swiss make called Valera - they were in a hotel room abroad I was staying in - and if I'd heard of them before buying GHDs I'd have bought them - around the same price, and they had a comb attachment. They were really good.

violetbunny · 14/05/2020 21:11

I've had two Cloud 9s and both have died just after the one year warranty passed. I now have gone back to GHDs.

Justrestingmyeyes1 · 14/05/2020 21:17

My ghds finally died a death a couple of weeks ago after 10 years. Ordered some cloud nine touch and wow! SO much better than my ghds!

TheTrollFairy · 14/05/2020 21:21

I have GHDs and love them but they are over 10 years old. When they die I will replace them with cloud 9s! My sisters are great

Therealfatshady · 14/05/2020 21:28

I love my Cloud Nines! 3 years and still going strong.

Hibbetyhob · 14/05/2020 21:40

Yes cloud 9s are like original ghds. I’ve had my cloud 9s for ages and they still work perfectly - I switched after ghds stopped being so good.

MistyIsland · 14/05/2020 21:42

I have 2 pairs of ghd’s one pair is about 15 years old (maybe longer as they were my sisters before she gave them to me) they are absolutely amazing and still my go to.

The newer pair Dh treated me to are utter shite, not worth the money he spent on them and just sit in the cupboard.

My hairdresser uses cloud 9’s (and they are very very good) and I’m debating on buying myself some for my birthday.

chelle862 · 14/05/2020 21:44

Love love love cloud 9!! I've got the wide plate ones and they make doing my thick hair so easy!

mossberry · 14/05/2020 21:45

I have quite fine hair and lots of it. GHDs damaged it.

I bought straighteners from Hershesons a couple of years ago. They're titanium and don't tear my hair. I love them and would never go back to GHDs.

chugga · 14/05/2020 21:48

I had 2 GHD straightens over a 15 year period and absolutely loved them but I was needing new straighteners after having the old ones for 7 years and I heard cloud 9 were amazing so thought I'd give them a go, they are a little bit more expensive but I love them and wouldn't go back to GHD's now.

loadypoady · 14/05/2020 21:52

I’m a hair gadget and product junkie.
I’ve got both ghds and cloud nine straighteners and if I’m honest I don’t think there’s anything between them for what they do to my hair. I have shortish fine hair with plenty of it.
There is the temperature control on cloud nines if that does make a difference to you as a consumer.

Pippin2028 · 14/05/2020 21:52

Cloud 9 are great, I have used both and definitely think Cloud 9 beat GHDs

Kamma89 · 15/05/2020 08:43

Cloud 9 hands down. Way less damaging to hair. Temperature control is excellent
