I know this has been done before, but ....

McVities dark choc digestives ordered and they’ve sent me own brand plain digestives 😱 oh well, tea dunking it is then.

Marc de Champagne truffles ordered a few weeks ago and was sent own brand salted caramel truffles - ugh, salt does not belong in caramel or chocolate

Tongue in cheek obviously 🙄

You need plain digestives for the cheese, yum much better than chocolate coated and salted caramel truffles are delish.

A few weeks before lockdown I had a delivery where they substituted my size 3 nappies for size 6 🤦‍♀️ I mean still nappies but in what world were they going to fit 😂
And a good but baffling one in the same shop, bought 3 boxes of cherry bakewells because my husband eats them like they’re going out of fashion... they substituted with 9 BOXES of cherry bakewell slices, honestly I was so confused and how they worked out their cherry bakewell conversion rate 😂

A pack of AA batteries when I had ordered AAA.

my last asda shop i got 2x6 eggs subbed for 1x6 eggs but its okay as hey were happy ones..
also 2 asda pizzas subbed for 1 branded of a smaller size and charged the full £3.70 for the privilege.
i do usually go to the shop but has been tescos as nearest but i stumbled on a delivery for asda so took advantage to stock up on their items my asd kids like that i cant get at tescos as well as a full shop and added bulky things that i either struggle to carry/push trolley ( i have l5 disc probs and awaiting another mri )and fill up my deceptively small car boot

Elouera · 13/05/2020 19:00

Frozen Chinese spring rolls were subbed with a giant, green, Indian gourd!

okiedokieme · 13/05/2020 19:01

I once ordered size 4 training pants and got newborn nappies, same shop I got chicken nuggets when I ordered chicken breast fillets (as in plain chicken), tomato paste when I ordered tikka paste, fish fingers instead of cod pieces and there was more, just forget as it's a while ago but I didn't do online shopping for years after that, was the worst shop but previous ones had been very bad substitutes too. We moved from there and didn't have an issue in the new city

daisyjgrey · 13/05/2020 19:05

A few years ago I ordered two lemons and they sent two bottles of lemon scented bleach...

gottastopeatingchocolate · 13/05/2020 19:05

These threads always remind me of Victoria Wood's "Kimberley":

"I couldn't get you raspberry yogurt. So I got you a meat and potato pie instead".

Ughmaybenot · 13/05/2020 19:06

I ordered two loaves of bread, 400g. One to freeze and one for now.
Somehow they managed to send me four loaves of bread, 800g.
So much bread for two people... especially when only one eats bread 😂

babydungarees · 13/05/2020 19:13

Ordered 2 courgettes & a head of broccoli, got substituted for 8 courgettes. I like courgette as much as the next person but we did struggle to finish off 8 between 2 of us. Today’s click & collect had two massive bunches of organic carrots in place of one 60p bag of carrots, so I made some nice carrot & orange muffins.

Everythingmagnolia · 13/05/2020 19:13

I recently ordered some wrapping paper for DH's birthday.

I received a pack of gift tags.

EyeDrops · 13/05/2020 19:15

A relative's delivery yesterday. Ordered 1x12 box of eggs. She received 5x15 eggs. 75 eggs!!! Utterly baffling!

gavisconismyfriend · 13/05/2020 19:17

@gottastopeatingchocolate - that phrase is a standing joke in our house, used every time someone does something random. Makes me laugh without fail.

I’ve searched and searched for a copy of the sketch but can’t find it on YouTube or anywhere.

islerunner · 13/05/2020 19:17

I ordered Yorkshire Tea but received Tetley.

I gave it straight back to the driver (before lockdown)

QWE96 · 13/05/2020 20:04

I used to work as a home shopper and once watched a colleague substitute toothpaste for lube...

thelastteacake · 13/05/2020 20:07

I always avoided online shopping as I had heard so many bad stories about substitutions but we’ve used Sainsbury’s during lockdown (on vulnerable list) and they’ve been brilliant. Especially liked it when I got some expensive salted caramel cheesecakes (and a voucher for the difference).

bluefoxmug · 13/05/2020 20:14

no a substitute as such but my local suermarket had washing powder of my usual brand in boxes with greek or bulgarian writing.
smells different.

StandardPoodle · 13/05/2020 20:21

I ordered bicarbonate of soda and received cocoa powder.
Not very useful for making soda bread............

myself2020 · 13/05/2020 20:25

Bread ordered. got a gluten free pizza base kit...,
thanks to olio it was gone in 10 minutes though as apparently gluten free stuff is hard to find
