Hopefully a bit of an uplifting thread where we can focus on the positives among the many negatives.

I've managed to learn how to do a handstand! I've never in my life been able to do one, even as a child but I can now after many many fails.

Anyone else managed to achieve anything? Small or big

@Lordfrontpaw - thank you. That is a lovely thing to say. I've been feeling guilty about underachieving and not losing weight or getting fit. I've let a lot of days drift by.

@Standupthisisnotateaparty - what a gorgeous post. I can't think of anything better to achieve. Stories like that make me think a lot of good is coming out of lockdown too.

Bozlem80 · 14/05/2020 17:24

Learnt how to make Yorkshire puddings from scratch, that’s about it!

lazylinguist · 14/05/2020 17:28

Repainted the bannister where the cat scratched it all up (when I'd just painted it the first time around Angry).

Knitted a throw, a pair of socks, a hat and (so far) half a shawl/wrap. I'm normally a very slow, unproductive knitter because I don't have time to do it much!

Studied for my Spanish A Level (even though god knows when I'll get to sit the exam).

Lemonsherbets78 · 14/05/2020 17:46

Handed in an assignment during lockdown, after really struggling with completing work whilst looking after my 4 year old on my own full time. Got the grade back... A high first. 2 marks off publication level. My highest grade yet. I was previously contemplating resitting the year as I was sure lockdown and lack of library access whilst trying to entertain a small child would be impossible for me to manage. Just very proud of myself, and no one gives a monkeys Grin

Taken up my Greek language learning again, via Zoom with my new Greek teacher on the Islands of. I dropped it in 2016 when my late husband got ill. Pleased I have taken it back again.

Gosh I'm rusty at it. Hope to be back to reasonable fluency by next year when I go out.

Started Zumba at home again. Again something else that went out of the window when my husband got ill

Somehow I have also found myself in a satirical script performance, a friend has wrote. Doing it with 6 others via Zoom, for a possible radio show later in the year called Virus Radio

Think that's it

Oh as well, I've just remembered bar cutting my hair (I will never do that) I have coloured my hair for the first time in 20 plus years myself and learnt to do other spa treatments myself such as waxing I want to come out the other side of this looking reasonable.

Lclaytonuk5555 · 14/05/2020 17:55

Learning how to do free motion machine embroidery and loving it.

Whycantibeapuppy · 14/05/2020 17:57

I’ve started a psychology degree!

I’ve interviewed for 4 different nanny roles so far and been offered every one, one more interview to go. Feels like the world is my oyster right now 😁

OhMyDarling · 14/05/2020 18:00

I have done so many market researches, sold stuff on my estate Facebook page (socially distanced), and dyed my hair a colour I’ve always wanted but have been too scared to do it.
So I made money and look so different... amazing!!

SoMuchToBits · 14/05/2020 18:01

I've been working the same hours as usual, but as well as work and the usual domestic/garden chores I have now set up, photographed and posted 33 days' worth of scenes of a Playmobil pandemic! Grin

Fishfingersandwichplease · 14/05/2020 18:02

I've kept the kids alive.....
Oh and we started our kitchen renovation, took down a wall, smashed off all hideous tiles, took down some of the units, ripped up the floor.....
I'm not sure destruction is much of an achievement.... but we didnt have to.pay anyone to do it so we saved a few quid...

tomatoesomtoast · 14/05/2020 18:16

I’ve regained my ability to do burpees without being sick

fedupfrida · 14/05/2020 18:42

A stress-free, slower pace of life.
That in itself has been a huge achievement for me. I'm normally like a headless chicken with a too-fast heart rate so I'm really pleased and will learn lessons going into my future.

Aria999 · 14/05/2020 18:45

LOL YA totally BU. I have achieved nothing at all unless you count being at home with a 4 year old and a baby for 7 weeks without going totally crazy (it's normal to wear your underpants on your head right?)

Who wants hear about all these success stories! 😂 joking (mostly), glad some people are finding some positives.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 14/05/2020 18:53

Agreed not to neuter female kitten
I don't think that's an achievement 👀 Unless you like kittens. Lots and lots of kittens👀

Fluffybutter · 14/05/2020 19:01

Agreed not to neuter female kitten
I cannot find this post but what the actual fuck?
Why is that an achievement??
Do you know how much it’ll put that cat at risk before she’s even 6 months old ?!

Greenpolkadot · 14/05/2020 19:01

Painted all my garden fence
Finished a huge jigsaw puzzle.
Started watching 'Spooks' from the begining
Made great headway with my family tree.

bemusedmoose · 14/05/2020 19:06

Ive lost 30lbs, regularly paint my nails, dug a huge pond, watched the star link with the kids, tried lots of different baking recipes I never have time for, got to try out home school which I wish I had done earlier! Realised lots of people have turned into complete fuckers (or at least revealed their fuckery) since lockdown - so can now give my acquaintance list a good cleanse, my kids are happier and less stressed, im happier and less stressed in some areas, more stressed in others, my pets are happier, I seem to look younger! I found out I never really liked going out and don't miss anything other than seeing family and I have plans for some decorating .

Wired4sound · 14/05/2020 19:06

whojamaflip · 14/05/2020 19:14

Have managed not to kill dh or aforementioned dc Grin

Catra · 14/05/2020 19:23

Listed over 100 unneeded items from the clearout on eBay and put all the money towards my moving house fund.
