To think the conservatives are corrupt AF

Just that really. A company some Tory MP is a consultant for gets a lucrative COVID-19 testing contract with no competitive tender process, vote leave friends of Cummings getting non-exec director roles, ex met police officer who dropped investigation into vote leave fraud also gets a non executive director role. Stinks of Cronyism and corruption.

More info from Carole Codwalladr:

"Um. Did anyone know that the cabinet office has ‘non-exec directors’? 4 new ones, all friends of Cummings: 1) ex commissioner of force that dropped investigation into Vote Leave. 2) Chair of Vote Leave. 3) Digital director of Vote Leave 4) someone else"

They are obsessed with Corbyn and Diane Abbott. It’s like listening to a stuck record.

Tories corrupt ?
Truly astounding

Graphista · 13/05/2020 14:35

You just noticed? ''Twas ever thus!

And yes sad to say all political organisations are to a greater or lesser degree, but the tories are known for being especially bad for it.

They are obsessed with Corbyn and Diane Abbott. It’s like listening to a stuck record. yep and McDonnell - not even quick enough to adjust to new leadership

Not even two pages in and already “Yeah but Corbyn”. Tory central office really should update its bots.

And you dare call me a terrorist,
Whilst you look down your gun,
When I think of all the things that you have done
You have plundered many nations
Divided many lands
You have terrorised their peoples you ruled with an iron hand
And you brought this reign of terror to my land

They are all in this together.

Governments have always had corruption to some degree but this feels different... Blatant even. We've had no real opposition until now so maybe that's allowed the brazenness. Russia report suppressed, electoral fraud investigation dropped. Our democracy at stake.

Why would any sane government appoint people to the cabinet office that didn't share the same political views Confused. Sounds pretty sensible to me, its a Conservative government after all not a Labour one!

Whataloadofshite · 14/05/2020 01:26

And in other news, water is wet.

TheSandman · 14/05/2020 01:45

Does this question even need asking?

TheSandman · 14/05/2020 01:48

Christ no. Don't confuse the poor dears. They've only just stopped banging on about Michael Foot for FFS.

Muh2020 · 14/05/2020 05:01

They are pretty much fascists and yes - they are hopelessly corrupt.

Lenny1980 · 14/05/2020 05:11

Non execs of companies do have responsibilities. They have the same legal responsibilities and potential liabilities as executive directors. Not sure how that fits with the cabinet though.
