. . . to think I should change career because this is so tremendous?

So I just cut DH's hair.

And I think he should be thanking me instead of holding the side of his head, accusing me of being a bit stabby.

AIBU to give up my boring office job and be Nicky Clarke instead? Grin

Before and after below (although I did tidy it up a bit more so it's even better now, DH just won't let me take any more photos . . . )

Quit your job immediately - clearly you have a higher calling!!

changechange · 12/05/2020 22:24

I did my 3 year old sons last week. Still mega proud every time I look at it.

You did a cracking job.

SharonasCorona · 12/05/2020 22:28

Not bad! I imagine you and your DH to be like this in the throes if the pandemic.

You did a good job

OneNewName · 12/05/2020 22:30

I hope he tipped you, it's great. I've done the dog and DH, DC next

justanotherneighinparadise · 12/05/2020 22:31

@SharonasCorona 🤣🤣

MamaGee09 · 12/05/2020 22:32

😂😂

Today I cut my sons hair, we both think it looks good though I did cut one part too short and I poked him in the eye twice aswell as cutting my finger, i shall not be giving up my day job!

RedPandaFluff · 12/05/2020 22:32

@SharonasCorona we look exactly like that except slightly more regal.

I felt the same after my similar achievement this weekend. Who knew we had all this hidden talent OP? I did nick my finger quite badly on the scissors tho- blaming the half bottle of wine I'd had for Dutch courage first for that bit...

Floralnomad · 12/05/2020 22:39

I did my husbands last week and decided it was way easier than clipping a horse , I doubt he will ever go to the barbers again .

ErrolTheDragon · 12/05/2020 22:44

I've trimmed DH's hair twice so far. It does help that he had the forethought to buy clippers in February, and that any tricky styling decisions re the top and front are avoided by his genetics.Grin The second time I realised I could avoid mess by doing it in the garden - I think al fresco barbering should definitely be a thing.

Unfortunately I've got no one else to hone my skills on, the dog is a shorthaired dachshund whose fur magically stops growing at a neat length.

RedPandaFluff · 12/05/2020 22:47

Ooooo al fresco! Positively kinky.

We have two extremely fluffy Maine Coons.

The possibilities are endless . . . Grin

Definitely do it outside, I've been doing DH's with clippers for ages like that.

Scared to try scissors but had my first go this week with DS, not as bad as I'd thought it might be but room for improvement. Not in your league OP (although I imagine it's easier when your client sits still!)
