Being friends with daughters teacher on Facebook.

Not her actual teacher but a student teacher who was training in her class prior to schools closing. I would never want to be friends with the children’s actual teacher. I don’t know if he will still be there when they go back.

I’ve known him for years and have been Facebook friends for a few years too. We went to school together and grew up near each other and randomly Dd told there was a new teacher and discovered who it was and even worse Facebook friends with him. Completely random as we live in a different area now!

I haven’t deleted him but I feel it’s a little weird. This guy has been teaching my child and can see what we are up to (very little at the minute)

Posting here for traffic. Would you remove him as a friend or keep him as a friend?

Random I know! But thought teaching staff technically wasn’t allowed to be friends with parents? But technically he isn’t her teacher?

If you have a friendship outside of him being a teacher of DD then I wouldn't worry.

I have friends on my Facebook whose children go to my school.

Technically I is discouraged. However, most schools also acknowledge that there are some circumstances when it is going to happen, and that that is fine but to do so with caution. For example, a person may be a teacher/TA in their own child's school, or may be a teacher/TA of a family member.

However, if you feel uncomfortable then you have options - you can unfollow them, change their friend status to acquaintance and only pst to friends, or delete them.
