Posting for traffic.
DH has had this rash on his back for a couple of days and it’s gradually getting more and more angry looking and has now spread down his legs.
He’s said it’s not itchy but he can feel it rubbing against his clothes.

Any ideas?
Thanks

Looks similar to when OH had shingles to me.

Lailaloo747 · 12/05/2020 08:04

I don’t think it’s shingles. He says it’s not painful at all. It looks to me like some kind of allergic reaction but I can’t think what it’d be from.
He says he’s always had a bit of stomach ache/upset stomach this morning (he’s at work)

*also not always!

Shingles usually only affects one side of the body - doesn't cross the spine.
That looks like a reaction to something - either an external product like washing powder/soap, or something he has eaten.
Is he otherwise ill? Fever? Headache?

TweetUsOnFacebook · 12/05/2020 08:06

It looks more like measles than shingles

Lailaloo747 · 12/05/2020 08:08

He had a headache last night but I think that was due to a very busy/stressful day at work. He’s eating/drinking normally. Slept fine last night. Otherwise ok apart from a bit of an upset stomach this morning.

My GP surgery has a good system via email and phone. You could email that photo and ask for a GP call back.
It helps if you include a clear history and timeline of all symptoms.
It is a bit of a worry in case he is infectious.

Lailaloo747 · 12/05/2020 08:13

Yes I’m concerned incase it’s something infectious. Although he does work outside, alone, so he’s not putting anyone else at risk.
He’s being a typical man...”it’s fine, I’ll just stick some cream on it” Hmm

Sweat rash maybe?

SparklesAllOver · 12/05/2020 08:19

Definitely speak to GP as a rash is one of the more unusual symptons of Covid 19. Hope he is ok, OP.

Lailaloo747 · 12/05/2020 08:20

Thanks everyone. Going to call our GP shortly and see if I can email a pic of the rash and go from there.
