The biggest lockdown flouting you’ve seen

Carolduckingbaskin · 10/05/2020 12:16

Ok so I do live backing onto several fields and a football pitch... bit so far I’ve seen...

A full on footie match with a group watching A group of adults of around 20, teams wearing bibs etc - probably around 20people in total.

A group of teenagers having... a boxing match (lovely bit of contact there).

Aibu to ask if anyone has seen anything quite as blatantly flouting the rules?

OP posts:
Bluntness100 · 10/05/2020 12:17

No because I’m at home.

What does it matter about peooke flouting the rules. Did any of them get ill? Need hospitalisation? No? Is the nhs over capacity? No?

So what’s your issue?

Bluntness100 · 10/05/2020 12:18

Did you vote for yourself not being unreasonable? 🤣

yellowbrickwhorl · 10/05/2020 12:19

I haven't seen any.

Heatherjayne1972 · 10/05/2020 12:25

People over the back.

Many many Bbq. Parties get togethers. Lots of Children screeching constantly All day and into the night
Almost every day/ night while the weather has been warm

These are three bed houses. So either there all the same ( massive) family squeezed into a small house
Or they are inviting people round

Note - they don’t all live there

ScrapThatThen · 10/05/2020 12:32

I saw two over 60s flagrantly sitting on a bench near the park.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 10/05/2020 12:35

Fridays street party. Hours and hours of close contact with some being key workers and various relatives turning up to join in.

MouthBreathingRage · 10/05/2020 12:40

Well no one but them would know if any of them got ill, would they? There was always a possibility, that's why people have been told to social distance. You've been getting very arsy on threads recently, @Bluntness100. I know lockdown is getting to most people, but going online to wrongly snap at people may not be the best way to deal with your frustrations.

My next door neighbours invited some people over, then had a full non-distanced chat with the visitors whilst sat on our garden wall. A mum from one of my playgroups posted a picture on FB of herself enjoying her garden with her kids, a neighbour and their kids. She's one of these 'I don't give no fucks, I dare you to argue' type of people anyway. People will do what they do, hopefully it won't affect the rest of us long term.

flabbyflabbyflabguts · 10/05/2020 12:44

People playing football in the park, doubt that many young men all live together. Usual bbq's and parties, etc etc on my road. People greeting each other and hugging in the street. But the number of infections in my borough is low, so meh

Scarlettpixie · 10/05/2020 12:46

I haven’t because I am staying at home.

Hoohaahoo · 10/05/2020 12:46

Lots of people on my street are in and out of each other’s houses. They have house parties on a weekend too. The police have been called but they haven’t shown up.

On Facebook I’ve seen photos and videos of a big street party with at least 100 people in close contact.

Hoohaahoo · 10/05/2020 12:47

Not to mention lots of groups of young adults/teenagers out together.

borntohula · 10/05/2020 12:49

Nothing to report, I just don't pay that much attention to what other people are doing.

borntohula · 10/05/2020 12:50

@ScrapThatThen 'flagrantly sitting,' I love that 😂

Nixen · 10/05/2020 12:51

My neighbour getting into his dealers van to purchase weed was pretty stupid. Or the person I know from school who has posted about how ridiculous it is to consider ending lockdown, but then lots of drunken insta stories of her dancing on with her neighbours

EatsShootsAndRuns · 10/05/2020 12:52

A neighbour has been having what looks like open house ever since lockdown, there's always at least 2/3 cars parked on his drive and people sitting in the garden for most of the day.

AddressLabel · 10/05/2020 12:53

2 sets of my neighbours had a gathering in their gardens (They have no fence between their gardens). I had to take my toddler in from our garden as some of their guests decided to have a slanging match and I didn’t want him to be subjected to any more foul language or see anything get physical. They also had a pony in the garden at one point.

Oblomov20 · 10/05/2020 12:55

Loads. What can you do?

Big groups of boys playing football. Big groups of men playing football.
Huge groups of cyclists riding past my house constantly.
Numerous friends who I thought were intelligent posting videos of having VE parties and late on drinking and passing by people very closely.

nevermorelenore · 10/05/2020 12:55

A couple of teenagers all over each other in the park.

I do live in a rural area though. Maybe they're from the same household?

BlackeyedSusan · 10/05/2020 12:57

Ex's neighbour buying drugs from the dealer and the going to another house to smoke them.

daisychain01 · 10/05/2020 12:58

Ah another let's bitch and snitch thread to point the finger on other people's behaviour.

It's a spectator sport.

Bienentrinkwasser · 10/05/2020 12:58

A girl I used to work with posting photos of her ‘socially distanced’ picnic with her, her partner, her mum, her baby, another couple, and their baby. Including their babies (both about 8/9 months so just right for drooling all over each other) sat next to each other. I’m 99% sure they would have had to drive there if I’m going to be really petty about it.

That did actually piss me off a bit because it seemed so blatant and unnecessary. She lives with her partner, her parents, and her brother anyway, she’s getting plenty of social interaction!

Bienentrinkwasser · 10/05/2020 13:00

Not sure if you mean what I think you mean but it gave me a laugh.

usernotknown · 10/05/2020 13:04

Someone in the Co op buying a newspaper and a bottle of wine.

100% this.
