Silly porridge debate AIBU?

DISCLAIMER: DP is in no way trying to police my food and I can eat however much/little I want whenever I want to!

I have been trying to loose weight recently and my usual breakfast of choice is a small bowl of porridge with cinnamon and chia seeds, sometimes I add a tiny drizzle of honey on top (half a teaspoon) or go without any.
I make it from organic rolled oats.

We were discussing it the other day and DP is saying it's not a great breakfast to have if I'm trying to loose weight and I should either be having a breakfast with veg and protein or having protein with it (boiled egg on the side or something) to help break down the carbs as it's all just carbs and will be bloating - I pointed out its not bloating at all but he's sticking by the whole "it's not a great breakfast to have" and that it's not a balanced breakfast for weight loss.

I find it keeps me full for quite a while even having the fairly small amount that I do and I don't really fancy having an egg or whatever it is before or after. I thought it was a good breakfast to have and beats my usually "try to skip breakfast and then snack on a load of bad stuff before lunch" routine.

So AIBU and is it really a bad breakfast to have?

Genuine question: to those saying they're hungry after porridge, what type are you having?
When I used to have those sachet ones , I'd be hungry again after an hour. Now I have the Aldi organic oats (40g), full fat milk, fruit and some nuts. Keeps me full for hours!

Well it does sound like he's trying to police what you eat. Tell him to butt out.

I get hungry after porridge; made from scratch from ‘proper’ oats not sachets. When I had a PT do me a fitness plan I did have porridge on there but it was with a side of two turkey sausages! That kept me feeling full. Calorie deficit doesn’t work for everyone. I lose weight a lot easier when I limit my carbs, I also find myself less hungry.
