To be really anxious what they'll do with furloughed workers?

Really anxious to hear Boris announce what's happening tonight.

I'm furloughed at the moment and the company I work for are in dire straits financially and even were before this tbh. I really hope we can get back to work soon but even then my company says it will be a staggered return and I envisage they will return furloughed workers (ten people out of around 50) last so they don't have to worry about our wages until our return. Just wish I had a partner or someone to share these financial worries with sometimes.

Currently the furlough scheme is set to continue as is until the end of June, however it’s not feasible to keep it this way a huge amount longer.

I imagine they will either start switching it off based on industry and encouraging them to go back to work, or will gradually decrease the % they cover.

I totally understand how terrifying it is not knowing what’s going to happen. I’ve been made redundant and am really struggling with the concept of not knowing when I’ll have a salary again Sad

It's reassuring it's til the end of June. I didn't realise that.

I'm so sorry about your redundancy Sad hope things start looking up for you very soon.

Unfortunately, if your workplace doesn’t re-open they can’t afford to continue paying you. I’m supposing it’ll be universal credit or JSA.

I really feel for people like you, it’s not your fault.Sad

The longer we stay under the conditions, the less likely it is that the economy will bounce back.

I'm concerned too. Myself and OH are both furloughed and work in travel - hotel/airport. Everyone is talking about getting people back to work etc but some are just not going to be able to yet. We are guessing we will either lose jobs, or go on unpaid leave meaning we will have to apply for universal credit if they don't extend the scheme. It's sucks big time but they can't go on paying indefinitely I guess. Feel for those that have lost jobs as well. Whole thing is just horrid.
