To ask for leggings recommendations

I practically live in leggings and long tops. My stash of leggings are all looking a bit shabby and my thighs have killed a few pairs 🙈 so I ordered half a dozen pairs of my usual cotton leggings. They arrived yesterday and they're a totally different size and shape! I'm a twelve so bought the 12-14 and they're tiny!

Can anyone offer recommendations? I like cotton ones rather than synthetic. I have some m&s ones but I hate the big thick waistband.

Try the style and beauty forum?

I like the Sainsburys Tu luxury ones (one pair for £10; not the twin pack, which are thinner). They hold their shape and wash well.

Primark. £2.50 a pair. Obviously no use right now as they are shut but when they reopen they are well worth getting. They wash well and look great. And the sizing is good too.

I've ordered some from Love Leggings after seeing them advertised for ages and assuming they're too good to be true. Omg they're absolutely brilliant - thick and not see through and don't go baggy. I absolutely love them. Certainly not a cheap legging option (about £15) but I'm never going back to anywhere else now!

Matalan papaya ones are good about £7

My DD wears Sainsbury's ones. I ordered her a couple of the £10 ones as they come in a long leg, she seems happy enough with them.

I get her the two for £10 pairs as well, but they do tend to pop at the knee. (She may just have bony knees though)

Are you sure you're a size twelve?
Crack out a tape measure and take some measurements; with vanity sizing so rife, if you're used to ordering online (so don't get a chance to try them on) then knowing your measurements will really help as you can use those when searching instead.

Leggings are pretty easy to make, so if you've got time and are feeling crafty I'd actually recommend making your own - guaranteed to fit and you're in control of the fabric.

Another recommendation for the £10 Sainsburys ones with modal. I've got pairs that have been going for 2-3 years and still look new.

Love Leggings are the best brand by a country mile

hula008 · 09/05/2020 13:28

I really like Primark ones because they are quite thin and breathable. I don't really wear leggings outside more for lounging though.

timetest · 09/05/2020 13:29

I like white stuff and phase 8 leggings. True to size, wash well and not see through.

ElectricTonight · 09/05/2020 13:41

The Sainsbury's ones are the best!

Mint Velvet.

I’ve tried every possibly recommendation for black leggings but these are by far the best. Thick, just enough stretch but don’t go see-through or baggy at the knee. They also do a short length, which is a godsend for me. I’m 5’ 5 but have a weirdly long torso and short legs, so the shorter length sits just above my ankles, which I like when I’m wearing trainers.

@OpenWheelRace quite sure, thanks.

Thanks for the recommendations everyone, I've had a scout about - I've taken the plunge and ordered a pair from love leggings. They're expensive but I suppose if I wear them so often I really should buy better quality.
