Spaced Marathon

There's a Spaced marathon on twitter at the moment - which I gather is a lockdown thing where everyone plays "Spaced" and they all chat about it on Twitter. Great. I love Spaced! Watched it when it first came out in the 90s. Fantastic stuff. One of my favourites.

So here's my AIBU. Loads of young tweeps are going on saying oh wow, how have I not seen this before!? It's great etc - well, it's because they were too young, and probably a mere babe in arms in the 90s when it came out. But those same young tweeters call women my age "Karen." So they can just FRO now, right? That comedy is my era, my life - they can't like it AND call me (or women of the Spaced era) Karen right?

I’ve never seen it before! I was busy getting married and having a baby when it was on, and everything since I’ve had it mixed up with the awful gimme gimme gimme. So it’s been a pleasure I didn’t expect tonight.

Bed for me now though, I’ll catch the rest another time.

I vaguely remember watching it back in the day and watching it now. What a cast! My teenage daughter recognised Mark Heap from watching Friday Night Dinner. Never would have recognised him!

I was just a teenager when Spaced series 1 came out, about 17/18. There was a fan website and forum set up and the cast were so lovely and often engaged with us. They invited us all down to set for series 2 to be extras. Was a lovely experience!
