I came of my pill on 9th Feb. I have had two periods since then and now my third is 3 weeks late. I have achey breasts, a clear, sometimes creamy discharge, tiredness and occasionally nausea. I have done a test and it was negative. Not sure was is going on.

Honestly, your body is probably playing tricks on you. I’ve read a lot of posts like this and they come on eventually.
But, I do hope you get a positive test.

Thanks. Very confusing

3 weeks late? That's quite some time. Give it another week.

Symptom spotting is hell, coming from someone who had fertility issues and spent years convincing herself this was the month.

Just to add, I've had two complicated ectopics and I had false negatives that turned light positives, it was very dangerous. I dont want to scare you but be mindful and prehaps have a look of the symptoms just incase. I say this as I wish somebody had told me..

Good luck x

I hope it's good news for you. Please be mindful though that it can take up to a year for your body to regulate after coming off the pill.

MadameBee · 08/05/2020 17:03

I had a false negative with my DD (21 years ago!).

ChloeCC · 08/05/2020 17:13

My doctor gave me a negative test when I was a few weeks late. I got a positive at home a few days later. As I understand it, you can have false negatives but not false positives.

Were your two periods since coming off the pill at regular intervals?

Vicky1981louise · 08/05/2020 17:29

The first was 7 days then a 34 day of gap the my other was 4 days

How old are you? I hesitate to say, but looking back, these were probably all signs for me that I was peri menopausal in my late 30s. I hope it’s not, but it might be worth a call to your GP/Practice Nurse for some guidance. Fingers crossed for you.

I am 39. Can't get to docs at mo

A strong positive would appear if you’re three weeks late, that would make you seven weeks pregnant already.

I’ve skipped a period in the past without being pregnant, it’s entirely possible and your cycles will still be regulating.

Gawdsake2020 · 09/05/2020 09:24

Are you sure your not early menopausal? Could be signs of that rather than pregnancy.

Vicky1981louise · 09/05/2020 14:37

I have looked at signs of menopause n it doesn't match up

Your first period would have been a withdrawal bleed rather than a true period. When I came off the pill to TTC a few years ago my cycles varied in length enormously for about 6 months and I managed to spot pregnancy symptoms every time they were ‘late’. Give it time for your body to settle down. I should also add that I never had achey breasts whilst on the pill but now I’m off it I get them badly every cycle. The pill will have suppressed a lot of normal symptoms associated with your cycle anyway.
