To think me and my husband have had coronavirus mildly?

2 weeks ago I got a fairly bad sore throat and headache. This lasted 4 days with a general feeling of unwellness and sometimes I would slightly improve then other times felt much worse. After this for 2 more days I was a bit breathless and had mild chest pain and kept going dizzy. I also had a day of not being able to taste like normal. Day 7 pretty much back to normal.
As soon as i felt better my husband had exactly the same symptoms as me for the same time.
Neither of us have had a temp or cough though. Just wondering if it was a normal virus or THAT.

If you didn't get a test I doubt you will know for sure

I had a bad virus in Feb/beginning of march. Was fine then it hit me. Tired, sore throat, exhausted, headache, cough started day or so after. It was about a week of feeling like death, had a day of been short of breath.... It went but I was left with a cough for another few weeks. It was before lockdown and before schools closed and all the tests. I would like to think I had had it and wont get it again....but I think chances are it was just a virus.

You can get a private test if you want to .just make sure from a reputable company . They are out there .

Sparklesocks · 08/05/2020 14:51

Perhaps. But it might have just been a bad cold. That’s the difficulty in lack of tests available, you can’t know for sure.

Booboodisney · 08/05/2020 15:00

Totally possible but I suppose unless they release antibody tests we will never know !

CodenameVillanelle · 08/05/2020 15:04

Sounds similar to my symptoms although I had the cough and a slight temperature. The symptoms were ripping through my office right before lockdown.

Looneytune253 · 08/05/2020 15:05

I had similar to you (though I did have a cough) and I wouldn't have been sure I'd had it or not but then dh was poorly too but he got it quite bad and ended up with potentially pneumonia but not hospitalised and not tested. I'm quite sure what I had was it now

Hard to know. When they were only testing people in hospital with symptoms the positive rate was still less than 50%. There are lots of other things it could have been.

On the other hand lack of taste is a strong indicator. covid.joinzoe.com/post/research-update-april-1-2020

Until there is an accurate antibody test available to the public you can’t know for sure. There is one at Porton Down but only available to a select study group.
