So my shoulder is giving me grief - I think it's from being hunched over the laptop all the time, and sitting on a kitchen chair, though I do move to the sofa sometimes. I have to do long boring jobs of checking excel spreadsheets. It's so boring, and sometimes I cant help thinking a bit pointless i.e. I don't see the value or point of what I'm doing half the time. Seems like the 'powers that be' are finding more and more stuff that needs to be checked, even though it's been checked already. Some places are using the time to try and 'tidy up' their data. It is so tedious. I'm very unmotivated. Plus my shoulder is aching. And my back. Plus it's hard doing it all on a laptop. I'm thinking I need to buy a mouse. A keyboard would be good too as I really miss the number pad on my keyboard at work. They tell me there's no budget for this though so I'd have to order them on Amazon. Also I really need a proper chair to sit on. Couldn't sleep last night for backache. Just having a big moan. ANyone else having similar problems. Is your work forking out for 'equipment'. We're being told we might be wfh for a good few more months.

I've purchased my own wireless mouse and keyboard. I figured its a good investment since I expect to be working from home for a while. It also allows me to put my laptop on a box to raise the screen height to avoid hunching over. I'd 100% recommend to buy them if you can afford the cost.
As for chairs I know some people have taken them from the office. Have you asked to do this? Also maybe ask to take a screen from the office it would help you do Excel work?

The point is it's keeping you in a job.

I too would invest in a wireless mouse and keyboard set. They're not that expensive. I did buy a desk chair. It's not going to pass any extensive ergonomic tests but for £30 odd it's been a godsend for an eight hour working day.

I imagine there is a HR policy (maybe heath and safety) that says the company should supply you with the correct equipment to avoid injury. So keyboard/mouse wrist supports etc

Other than that, make sure you have the table and chair at the correct height, the computer screen is adjusted correctly and take regular breaks (At least 10minutes every hour) to do some neck and shoulder stretches.
