The Police across the US and Canada take a ridiculously heavy handed approach. Even the need to put handcuffs on everyone from children to very elderly people, is a step too far.

But I agree that the weapon wasn't a needed part of the costume and members of the public were quite right to report it because they shouldn't have to take the chance that it isn't real.

What a bunch of idiotic arsewipes those cops were. She put the "gun" down as soon as the Keystone Cops arrived, you can't get down in kit like that - she was outside a Star Wars restaurant. The manager was shouting at them. It was appalling - they managed to make her nose bleed, which will have happened when they pulled off the helmet. Poor girl.

Again. There was the worst shooting in Canadian history 2 weeks prior. 🤷🏻
Obviously there will be strong responses to someone covered head to toe in costume with what appears to be a gun...

Even when that "gun" is obviously plastic, when shes stood outside a restaurant that is a Star wars cantina, that she's crying to the plod because she can't get down in the costume, that the manager is screaming at the cops "it's a toy" - over reaction - yes. Even had it been real the thing was on the floor as soon as the cops arrived, so they were safe enough. A complete bunch of idiots
