And saying he wanted it to end so he could get his daughter back from over the road - really? Presumably he had plenty of time to get his daughterbeforethe clap - not as if it was unexpected. 8pm every Thursday

His daughter was standing across the road because they didn't want her on film. She hadn't gone across the road to see friends or gave a picnic.

Give over- it all means much of the same thing. If people have never bothered with it without a reason, I do wonder why? Therefore I assume they simply can’t be bothered with it, dont want to do it, can’t be bothered/arsed. It’s all the same thing!

*Are you really that dense?
It doesnt mean the same at all.
You have no idea why someone doesnt clap but you assume thier reason is because they cant be arsed. Thats you judging someone else.
Assuming something about other people is pretty arrogant.

What you said was clear and simple. It takes a lot of effort to twist it into something else you must be tired doing it over and over again.

You are sounding like a stuck record give it a rest*

Back at you @Willow2017

I don’t care why you or someone else doesn’t clap. I can assume what I want and you can be upset if you want.

Everyone is allowed an opinion. Just because I don’t agree with you doesn’t mean I’m ‘wrong’.

Look up subjective and it’s definition and that’ll perhaps better explain a concept that you’re not grasping.

Willow2017 · 08/05/2020 15:09

Its hilarious that you agreed reasons why people may not be clapping which were 'acceptable' to you yet at the same time insist
anyone not clapping cba.

Ok Willow-Well I think we’ll have to agree to disagree, because I’ve just had this same back and forth with a different poster and haven’t got the energy or inclination to do it all again for the next 24 hours.

You can tell when people start with the personal insults that it’s not going to end well and they’re firing their last shots as they’ve got nothing else to give.

Enjoy your back holiday weekend won’t you- I’m away for a swim 🏊‍♀️

The same people who clapped on my road yesterday are now blaring out loud music and my fiancé has a night shift (nhs frontline) tonight. People can be very thoughtless and if they appreciate key workers then they should let them sleep!

MistressWeatherwax1 · 08/05/2020 15:28

I haven't clapped. Our street had a lot of houses doing it to start complete with tambourines, pots n pans and whistles but only a few people last night which caused the neighbour across the road to start shouting we were all disgraceful and despicable and should be ashamed.

NotEverythingIsBlackandWhite · 08/05/2020 15:37

I'm still clapping but I think it has evolved into just a time when we can all wave to our neighbours and shout greetings now.

FilledSoda · 08/05/2020 15:55

Thankfully it hasn't happened in our avenue. I bloody love living here

my2bundles · 08/05/2020 16:20

Did it twice. Alot of tne people doing it are doing good it for fb likes, showing off 5han going back to floating tne rules the next day. I'msupporting the NHS by sticking to the rules and and not acting like a spoilt child performing for fb likes.

BirdieFriendReturns · 08/05/2020 16:49

Hunnybears - aren’t swimming pools and beaches closed?

prenuptiallypanicked · 08/05/2020 17:07

I do, as do quite a few families on our street. I love it, we’ve been able to “meet” quite a few of our neighbours, including a beautiful baby two doors down and next door’s lovely spaniel. I think it’s fine as long as you’re not a cock about it (I’m talking to you, Mr #54 dressing as a smurf and running up and down the road banging your saucepan 🙃)
