Breaking the rules?!

I’ve been strictly adhering to the guidelines for myself and DC since all this began. As of next week I am no longer able to work from home and will have to work ft again. My dc are entitled to school places when their dad can’t have them (he’s working too), but my partner has offered to look after them here if I need him to. I figure it’s a lower risk than them being at school - and the hours at school don’t work either - but feel a bit worried I’ll get chased out of town with pitchforks by the neighbours! AIBU?!

Does your partner live with you?

NotAProperGrownUp · 06/05/2020 10:33

No, he lives on his own. Haven’t seen each other since lockdown began

I'd wait and see what the update is from Boris and co at the weekend. The strict answer is yes but he would need to move in with you for the duration. But health wise it is probably no worse than them going back and forth to their dad's, and better than school.

I suppose him looking after the DC while you are at work is only the same as your DC going to stay at his, as is happening in many broken marriages.

As long as your ex has been following the guidelines it should be fine.

hammeringinmyhead · 06/05/2020 10:38

No, it's her partner, her ex is a different bloke!

NotAProperGrownUp · 06/05/2020 10:45

Yes, different bloke 😂
They’re also going to their dad’s too.
