He gets to make an very unneccessay journey to meet Captain Tom.
And then flaunt it on the BBC and laugh about it, going on about his meeting.
What happened to stay home for goodness sake.

I feel more angry at Nigel Farage, who travelled to the beach just so he could spout some racist nonsense.

Troels · 06/05/2020 09:30

I missed that one. I don't like Farage anyway. I thought Michael Ball was OK. I've now changed my mind and think he's an entitled idiot.
One rule for the rich and famous, another for us.

It was mentioned on bbc breakfast this morning.
They asked Michael Ball about his visit and he explained that they observed SD at all times and how safe it was.
I do agree though it seems one rule for one ( especially as the scientist Neal Ferguson also had visitors over etc)
However, many other people have broken rules. Hearing about these more famous rule breakers will just make it worse now as people are getting fed up.
My neighbours had visitors the other week : colleagues have said they had bbqs and get togethers , threads about hairdressers working still , I even read about a pub opening up for a while !
Rule breakers : it was bound to happen and has been since day one.

It was clearly stated in the piece that it was part of a journalistic role to interview him for a documentary to be aired tonight. All guidelines were followed.

Aragog · 06/05/2020 09:50

Was it not part of his current job?
You are allowed to go out to work, including travel from work, though are advised to wfh where possible.

Yes, and those that end up quitting their jobs for it are the "rich ones" not the neighbors who are having a BBQ/visitors (incl children) every weekend.

LockdownLoppy · 06/05/2020 09:54

Well, Michael Ball was filming a documentary for the BBC and the meeting was part of that, it wasn't a private social call. I can't get worked up over that.

Yes, for some reason clips of Nigel Farage standing on beaches ranting about illegal immigrants keep popping up on my YouTube homepage. Yesterday he was standing on the cliffs overlooking Dover spouting off. Presumably he doesn’t live in Dover?

I'm waiting for one of his apologists to say being a racist twat this is his job and he can't do it from home, so he's allowed... Grin Grin Grin
