A Birthday one

So it was my Birthday yesterday. I knew it was going to be a low key affair due to Lockdown.
However I can’t help feeling that dh made zero effort. He is very big on having a present list for his birthday.
So there was one thing that I wanted. Yes it was pricey but definitely within budget.
I overheard him telling his brother that he wasn’t going to get it for me because he felt that it wasn’t worth it for various reasons.
He also made a big deal of taking afternoon off to help me but actually by the time he finished work most of the home schooling etc etc had been done. He did suggest a takeaway which I ordered and It was still me that laid the table whilst he sat on his arse.
I cleared table and left washing up expecting my teen or dh to do it but it is still there now.
So yesterday I told him that I was positive that this was the gift I wanted and his response was you will have to sort it out as I can’t shop right now. He is shielding but really.
Tbh I am also cross with my teen as I went to a lot of trouble to make her birthday special but all she did was make her own lunch but leave washing up of course.

BtwI know it is trivial in the scheme of things right now so fully expect to be told YABU people are dying etc etc.

Sit them both down. Tell them how you feel. No point complaining on here.
